As an American girl, born and raised, it blows my mind that this is considered “vulgar”. Lol. Suggestive, sure but it’s def not lewd or vulgar. The dress and dance are both beautiful.
@terrainofthought

As an American you must find this tame. You are from a culture where you have nude beaches, men and women have children out of wedlock, men marry men and women marry women, and children are given freedom to chose their gender. Of course this looks tame and beautiful to you. But we find this vulgar and ugly. We inherited this ugliness and vulgarity from the culture we got our independence from 75 years ago but were not able to root it out. We live with it yes, but we do not find it beautiful.

The way Afreen swears makes her seem so normal and real....She's doing everything to manage her family, like any working woman would. Also I fell in love with Reema and Nasir's relationship - the fact that they can find happiness and love despite the destitution they face is quite inspiring. I completely agree with Afreen - it's the lustful gazes of the men that should be scrutinized and not the people who are providing a product for the customers demanding it....

Pakistan is being divided into two parts. One is the extremely modern and liberal part. And the other is the conservative part. It’s getting really weird here. For example the fashion and drama industry is getting really huge here. All the celebs have many fans but at the same time there is a huge chunk of the population always shaming and criticizing them for ‘forgetting their religion’. Every city’s people are also divided like this. Idk whats gonna happen with this country as this divide is getting worser. Let’s just hope for the best

pakistan needs secularism. see the turks witnessed the downfall of the ottomon sultanate and in the process they saw the manipulation game played by the fake religious mob and the utter hypocricy and corruption of the sultanate and their families. So they rejected it and embraced secularism. they were very inward looking, not blaming anyone else but themselves. india's mughals were replaced with sikhs and then colonialist powers esp britain. in the post-modern era, muslims just conveniently blamed the non-muslims for their problems, rather than look inward. so they just thought 'derp make da people into super muslims'. today pakistan has witnessed the same hypocricy and corruption of the political and religious elite. they need secularism, but the pirs they choose to worship, don't want an educated free society, they want a dumb society who they can control, so anyone who speaks sense is attacked and silenced easily. secularism will only happen when the vast majority realise. for now pakistan just needs to focus on providing education to the masses and increasing the literacy rate, so people can begin thinking for themselves.
