hi hahaha i love this reaction so much XD i can really tell how you're really interested in their music with reading their lyrics and breaking down it's meaning. thank u so much for appreciating their craft~ and btw some few notes here since the song have a lot of Filipino references: 1. Pablo cooking scene - The ingredients in the pot he's cooking are for the Filipino dish called "nilaga", this is reference to PH proverb, "Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga" which means "hard work has its rewards" 2. Stell shower scene - In PH since the weather is very hot here our body produces this "sour" smell in the armpit (that's why we always use deo) so people who don't take care of their hygiene here are called "maasim" literally "sour" so then he said in the lyrics that no matter how sweaty and sour he smell after all the hardwork he did all day the haters are more "sour" than him/them. 3. Josh rap part - He said that he will not swallow a stone because he's not Darna, Darna is a PH Icon Comics hero, she swallows a "stone" before she transform on her Darna form, so what he's saying is he's no superhero - He said that he's his own mechanic and don't need "Moniko", this is reference to a PH tongue twister: "Minikaniko ni Moniko, ang makina ni Monika" which translate to "Moniko fixed Monika's machine" so he's saying that he doesn't need anyone's help to build himself 4. Justin switch with the dog - This is reference to Filipino term "dogshow" used when you are clowning/making fun of something/someone. It can either be you're making fun of another person or you're making fun of yourself. It's "dogshow" because on literal dog shows, the dogs are being displayed to the public to make "tricks" who else does "tricks"?---- Clowns. 5. SB19 no eyebrows scene - If you raised your eyebrows on someone, you're judging them, right? Or being mean to them. On the MV the lyrics says to burn their brows. In PH there is this saying when you are studying hard, "nagsusunog ng kilay" which means burning their brows because their faces are buried on the book. So they're probably saying that instead of raising your eye brows on someone (judge them) why don't u just burn your brows (study) because the haters are basically dumb. EXTRA: Not a Filipino reference but at the end, the alien scene, they're actually mocking their Alab MV. (watch alab mv again and focus on the last part) This is because during that time they are fully managed by their Korean management SBT which made them do things they don't want to do as the group. In Alab MV, for example, they are promoted as "PPOP" but the MV literally starts and ended with someone speaking in Korean so PH netizens bashed SB19 about being a KPOP wanna be, no originality, and having no Filipino roots in their music.

PAGTATAG is to establish... we can't deny MAHALIMA in their GOLDEN ERA , well established!GENTO partly throwing stones to the bashers, haters just like in BAZINGA.. take note non believers when they raise their brows.. brows may disappear 😅

there's a lot of filipino reference in the lyrics actually - darna is a filipino superhero that needs to swallow a rock to transform so josh meant that he doesn't need anything special in order for him to reach his full potential - and there's also a lyric where it said " i am my own mechanic, there's no need for moniko" it's a famous tagalog tongue twister -and then there's a part where their eyebrows disappear and if you looked at the lyrics they meant "burned eyebrows" which means study hard. it's a saying that means studying hard cause back in the day where there were no electricity lights, filipinos used fire for light like candles and lamps placed beside them to read so it's an exaggeration that when you study a lot, you'll burn your eyebrows eventually and here in the song they meant that the haters would learn their lessons :)

It's like Bazinga lyrics but more explicit, direct and aggressive but no matter what, they are a gem to our music industry (OPM). They have put their unwavering mark just like their EP title - PAGTATAG which translates to strong foundation/founding/setting/establishment.

The title "GENTO" has double meaning in our language. Ganito, when shortened (gan'to, means "like this") and pronounced with a foreign accent becomes GENTO...the other one is Ginto, which means "gold" when said with an accent, like Ken's mother tongue which is Visayan dialect, is somehow Gento. "Pagtatag" means "strengthening" or "establishing" in Filipino. Knowing that SB19's new era after "Pagsibol" (which means "sprouting" or "budding") had come to a huge success...that definitely says it all. ❤

PAGTATAG means - Strengthening The trilogy symbolizes the growth of the plant which is the SB19 1st EP is symbolized as = ? - The "?" looks like the sprouting where the dot is the seed. That is why they have the song WHAT? 2nd EP which is PAGTATAG symbolizes as = ! - which "!" shows the plant is already growing up and standing straight and the dot still symbolizes the seed. 3rd EP is symbolized as = . This was explained by Pablo in one of the interviews means start and end.

trivia: a famous tongue twister in the Philippines is "minekaniko ni moniko ang makina ng minicar ni monica" roughly translates to (Moniko fixed the minicar of monica) .. so in the 2nd verse josh was saying that in his life he writes his own destiny. he is his own mechanic no need for moniko. Then the line before that said " di ko na kelangan ng bato hindi mala darna toh aandar ang makina ko" Roughly tranlsates to "I dont need to swallow a stone, Im not like DARNA, My engine will still run. Darna is a classic filipino superhero. who holds a magical stone that when she swallows she inherits powers same as wonderwoman's abilities.
