I went to an auction today. I was bidding up a storm but only bought 3 things for myself. A like new kohler k series propane generator, a chainsaw ( because it only brought 2.50$), and a broken big A muffler lighted bubble clock. I bought a 1978 Arctic cat jag, a 8 foot JD cultivator, and a potato hiller for my uncle. My dad bought a whole herd of stuff home including a brake drum lathe for only 10$!! In total only spent around 300$ for all of it!!

Nice showing of tractors and loved listening to the gas engines in the background. I'm to the point I may just sell off my entire Sears & Roebuck collection including garden tractors. I have not had the time to play with any of it in years. On another note, I sure miss flea markets, seems every year there is less and less flea markets and the folks who sell at them.

David Bradley and Simplicity use to make some of those old two wheel walking tractors. An older brand was Planet Junior.

My wife would not have been happy with me if I’d have been at that auction. Stuff was going cheap, I’m usually the guy trying to help the auctioneer out by bidding $10 to get it started and end up with something I wasn’t planning on buying😂.

It’s always neat to see an H model JD. Grandad’s was one of the first tractors I ever ran. He bought it new during WW2 and it came without tires because all the tires were going towards the war effort…

Nice video. Farmall C was our Loader Tractor, home-made loader (Dad was an agriculture mechanic and welder by trade). Our field tractors were an Oliver 70 (magneto - hand crank start); and an Oliver 88 souped up courtesy of my Dad. I remember working on it with him.The #88 was able to pull a 3 bottom thru the hilly clay hills in NE Iowa with ease. Dad made most of our wagons, we had a #4 mounted corn picker for the #88. Hay for the dairy herd was done with a New Holland twine baler (early one, Dad helped the local dealer refine the tying mechanism and lost the tip of a finger doing it).Our dairy barn with a huge hay loft is still standing and in good condition today. Largest barn in the area, then and now.

The tractor i have learned to drive on was a Ford County 1124. spend a lot of hours on that one cultivating and transporting patato's from the field to the shed. nice to see them on the show too.

Those are AC row units IH made a fast hitch planter but never in the tool bar style but they made pull type 2 4 and 6 rows as tool bar units those are some rare planters and go for big money 💵

Yes. My dads place has been in the family since coming from Germany. Where I live Great Grandpa bought in the 1950’s.

Jd Hs where not really popular as they where a 1 plow tractor and we’re pretty expensive compared to an A or B IH also had there a and b witch were almost 2/3 the price of a jd h
