When this track could be found on the early internet I heard it and thought it was the most brilliant piece op psychedelica ever made. Then I lost sight of it to my big sorrow but got into the psychedelic rabbit hole to soothe me over. Then, earlier this year, I recognized the album cover on Bandcamp and listened to it again. Needless to say, I was immersed again and took no pause to purchase this illogical yet monumentus piece of music. Old love never dies. Thanx Sphongle

This song was made when Raja Ram and Simon Posford witnessed an eclipse and then decided to recreate the experience in a song. Hence 'A Day Turned to Night.'

I always seem to be way too far gone on psychedelic wonderdust to even remember that I was a child when I listen to shpongle and I just close my eyes, crank, the music up, and let the fractal patterns eat my soul alive and when its all done, you're reborn. Terrance McKenna was right about his theory about our ape ancestors eating psychedelic mushrooms when they came down out of the trees and were sampling new foods, hence why our minds expanded the way they did when they ate the magic mushrooms

Just to let you know what they are speaking at the start - its in HINDI "its a bus stand booth guy who is telling passengers that the bus will leave by 5.20 and the bus driver will come at 9.30".. .rest is just noise .. and the pipes you hear at the beginning at 1.20 is a classical INDIAN track called."TAN DOLE MERA MAN DOLE"

Almost 20 minutes long and each minute sounds consistently incredible! This isn't just a song, it's literally a journey. Wow.

I carry an iPod solely for this song when I go backpacking. A dark night laying under the stars with the earphones plugged in -closest thing I've had to an out-of-body experience if you're in the right frame of mind. Posford is very talented.

Man, the first time I listened to this song all the way through, 7:15, 8:46, and 11:29 blew my mind. The spaciousness of the mix is definitely a stark contrast to the super vibrant layers that newer shpongle has. This is on another level. Especially considering it was made in 1998.

This piece of music is simply amazing! Even more, it forces you to take twenty minutes of your so precious being... all the time! No way out, if you don't mind, that's the best part of such wonderful experience!!! Enjoy it again and again...

That sensation of having listened to someone talk when one was one years old.
