This is an arrangement of Shredder's theme from Konami's 1989 arcade game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, also known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade game on the NES. I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES console.
I've always like the arcade version of this tune better than the NES version's. It's a lot slower and more dramatic feeling, and it gives you time to savor those hyper-aggressive orchestra hits!

Makes me wish TMNT Arcade was also ported to the SNES. Wonder how it'd sound over the shredder battle(s) in TiT

LOL, as a kid, I had such a hard time fighting Shredder, mainly because I couldn't figure out his clone trickery and his one-hit, instant-kill move that transforms you back into a regular turtle. Seriously, my nine-year-old self would love to flip both birds to the Konami staffer that put this in the game. Anyway, nice SPC700-style remix/cover.

why was 87 shredder so much more serious in the video games than the tv show back then they didnt take shredder seriously untill 2003 and 2012 series but at least the 87 shredder was uncle phill from fresh prince.

You should do the arcade arrangement for the snow level that was only featured in TMNTs 2: The Arcade from the NES to see what it would be like if such a level was included in the arcade version. As for the SNES arrangement of Shredder's theme, if TMNTs: The Arcade was released for the SNES back in the day, I'm more then certain it would sound utterly similar or the same as you made it as =)

I`m sure... I saw an arcade version in which false Shredder multiplies in 2 if you kill it. You could see more than 2 Shredders on screen. And all of them using the beam...

When you have a few partners playing with you, Shredder makes a few clones of himself in the arcade.

Indeed. Shredder makes as many clones as there are players.... So that's up to 5 Shredders on screen at once. However, he can run out of copies if the players are persistent enough

There was still a way for this. Solo: keep the real one at bay (on the edge) after summoning afterimage. Then go up and down, to evade his mutagen beam, while making sure to attack the double (unmasked). Until he no longer uses afterimage, blast him. Multiplayer (or 2 players for nes): he summons two (or more if arcade 4 players) So you must do the same as the solo method. Watch out for mutagen beam.

Thanks! Nope, I created the tune as an .it module and then passed it through the Snesmod tool to create an .spc that can be read by the original system with a flash cart.
