This is somewhat of an old video but I had to take time to comment on it. You skate pretty well, your style is basic but that's not a bad thing. Great fundamentals. A lot of guys who do board reviews just ride around for what feels forever and barely carve but you showed us everything. Downhill, transitions, flip tricks, old school tricks. I really have a feel for what the board can do. Although, I would like to know how that shape feels(feet wise), I'm warming up to it. Especially after learning that this is a pretty wide board for people with big feet. Edit: You got a new subscriber by the way.

Hey glad you liked it! Thanks for compliments, I was off the skateboard for a solid 16 years until last summer (with lots of snowboarding in between) and I'm still really finding my style. I wear size 11s, not huge. The stone god is 10" at the absolute widest point, which is the waves behind the front bolts. The tail tapers down to about 8.75-9" at the tail. I've been skating it now for quite a while and I absolutely love it. I didn't find the switch was that difficult. I don't really do flip tricks so I can't comment on that, but I'd imagine that it's a bit more difficult because of the width and the shape. There is so much room beneath my feet, I find it really confidence inspiring. Landyachtz says it's a mellow concave, it feels perfect to me. Foot placement feels very solid but not locked in. I love this deck and I'm definitely planning on picking up another one in a few months. FYI - Landyachtz is having their peak summer sale right now and everything is 23% off! If you have any other questions let me know! I'm happy to help spread the knowledge. Stay Rad Smoofyful!

@@skate_oasis Thank you for the specifics. I was really curious about the tapering of the width. Also, way ahead of you on the sale but thanks anyway. I already got a dancer, the Stratus Sanctuary, it's getting here this friday. I put off dancing for a long time because I was really trying to learn flip tricks. I can already do a couple of tricks like cross step and road runner though. I might get a stone gone at some put but I need to hug my money for a little bit. No need to say you got a new subscriber.

Bro...very quick response. Much love and appreciation. I will watch all your reviews. I'm a bit of a skate nerd and LOVE trying new gear since I'm turning 42 and just got back on the maple 5 weeks ago. I also just bought the Cordova 57mm 90a and 82a wheels. Ever tried those?!

Love this review, super informative. I’m looking for something to cruise with and hop up curbs, and this might fit the bill. Also interested in the Gordito, but that one might be too large for me.

Also look at the perfecto! It’s a bit closer to a standard popsicle shape. Thanks for watching!

What is the feeling of doing some grinds (on rails, copping, ledges) with the Polar Bear trucks and the Ez Hawg wheels combined?
@skate_oasis
@skate_oasis 10 ай бұрын
Great question! The trucks are awesome, they feel incredible. Since the wheels are pretty big they really lock into coping but might mess up the lock in on ledges. For my skatepark setup I have a pair of Powell 56mm Dragons and I put some automotive spacers between the inner bearings and the edge of the trucks to squeeze a few extra mms out of the trucks.

Is this a good first time/beginner board? I want to get into skateboarding and I’m looking for something with a wider deck
@skate_oasis
@skate_oasis 10 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I love a wider deck, my feet have so much room to move around. The wheels are also nice and soft so they soak up cracks and bumps like a dream, perfect setup for riding on roads or anywhere that doesn't have smooth concrete. They're on sale right now too for $159CAD. Great company with really solid products. The only downside to a deck shaped like this is that they make flip tricks a bit more challening. But, if you're a beginner you should be focusing on learning to ride and turn and cruise comofrtably before flip tricks are even on your radar. Landyachtz also sells a board called "The Perfecto" which is a little skinnier (like 9.1" I think) that I really like the looks of. You can't go wrong, all the components are solid. I love this thing. Happy skating friend!

@@skate_oasis I was wondering if that shape would make feebles and smiths easier?🤔
@skate_oasis
@skate_oasis Жыл бұрын
@@SkateCrisis Maybe? I didn't notice a difference doing feebles/smiths on a qp (just stalls) but it could help lock into grinds. The waves/wiggles made a huge difference doing bonelesses and bean plants, it gave me a super solid pocket to grab into.
