Today we're watching the third shrek movie, Shrek the Third! This movie has the lowest IMDb rating out of the whole Shrek series, but is it really that bad? With new characters, body swap scenes, and a plot that's there (allegedly) we're gonna sit through this and found out how mid this really is.

Shrek The Third - 2007
When King Harold suddenly croaks, Shrek (Mike Myers) learns he will have to rule the land of Far, Far Away, unless he can find a suitable heir to the throne. The most-promising candidate is Princess Fiona's (Cameron Diaz) cousin Artie (Justin Timberlake), a teenage slacker in a medieval high-school. Shrek and his trusted companions, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas), set out to bring Artie back but find their mission is a bigger challenge than they expected.

Shrek 4 is actually pretty solid as a movie and also a good satire on both unnecessary sequels as a whole and also the state of the Shrek franchise at the time.

Agreed. It brings back some of the sincerity and seriousness to the franchise while also containing a little more of an original and meaty plot. This Third one was just of a hash of every "Rags to Riches" story, and done, evidently, very lamely. Schafrillas' review really changed my mind on the movie once I saw his review.

Shrek forever after has a plotline, and is willing to take things a lil more seriously. I think there are scenes that don't work, but it'ssomewhat superior to Shrek 3.

They tried so hard to make Arthur and Merlin different from the Disney movie they made them completely unlikeable. Genuinely a massive missed opportunity. Even just to keep Merlin. Could have been the teaching Arthur how to be a wizard and also be a grumpy father figure and give Shrek solid advice about being a dad.

Fun fact: There actually aren't alpha wolves or any of the other stuff. Wolf packs are pretty much just groups of families that have mates leading them and fights for dominance are rare.
