I love watching your videos. That strange noise was made by the heron. They have a very unpleasant croaky call. I've been walking in the woods and fields of New England for decades. I've seen things my fellow hiker’s never see. If i’d have had trail camera’s....!!! I'm almost 70 now so my hikes have turned into walks. Thanks for keeping me out on the trail virtually!

Hey,you should contact the camera manufacturer and tell them about this. It would be a great advertisement for their product! 60 days, 100+ videos, survived through a hurricane and still 74% battery life and the camera is perfect!! Check into it, I bet they would be interested in using your experience!

It's so bizarre to see a cougar and a bear, animals I'm used to here in the Pacific Northwest, and then an alligator walks into the picture! Amazing! This is great stuff.

I think the noise the Heron was making is a warning, he proabably just saw your trail cam and was telling it to go away, that it doesn't want to fight him. I've acutally startled a few Herons while Kayaking and they've made very similar noises.

Well at least there are no bears, panthers, or huge gators around the area he's cruising around in.

We call the really big gators, granddaddies. Got a family member that takes water samples for pollution control. He's sent to really remote areas and the stories are unreal.

Been a avid outdoorsman for 40 plus years and I'm still amazed how deer can slip through brush at full speed with ease where most people myself included will get tangled up in like a butterfly in a spider's web. The coolest picture has to be that modern day dinosaur slipping down the trail.

Tim, I don't normally make comments on videos but after watching a few of your videos and being an animal lover I just had to comment. I to have several trail cams and it's a lot of work people don't see that part I might ad my landscape isn't like yours I'm in the mid-west. Had a couple cams stolen or animals chewed them up but, so glad to see the diverse animals and they seem to be doing well living so close to humans. Great videos .

America the third largest country in both area and population is still blessed with vast areas for wildlife. My wife and I traveled to all 50 states and over 150 countries for business and pleasure and it is most interesting to see the difference in sizes of Mountain Lions from the western U.S. and the smaller ones in Florida, this is especially true of the Bear. They are moving into the Birmingham, Alabama eastern sections now going to western parts of Alabama and hopefully Black Bear with have a wider distribution in the next 50 years, but that may be limited to growth of cities, etc. Same with Gators, all over south Alabama, Georgia, S.C., Miss., and been to many Gator farms and in the swamps in Louisiana, especially south of N.O. They are even seen as far as Smith Lake that covers five counties in North Central Alabama in the Appalachians just west of the mt. lakes regions of Alabama. Camped out with many in south Alabama in the Mobile Tidal area and same in Georgia and Florida swaps, one small lake in Florida a little boy was swimming where the night before we saw a 10+ footer Gator swimming and we yelled at him and he left the lake, but that was scary for sure. Out west we camped out with large brown and black bears, and once in the Sky Line area on top of the Shenandoah National Park the 105 mile drive on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains we walked that evening just before dusk and heard from many dozens of caves the Black Bears snoring loudly and ate some Blue Berries about a 100 yards away, and that is a danger area, Bear food, and then a park ranger walked toward us, as our camper was at least several miles away and he carried a very strong metal incased Coleman cooler, not like those weak ones today, but heavy metal outside. The Rangers name was Roger Ranger, or Roger the Ranger, funny but true name. He held a huge Cooler and warned us and said, "see what a big Black Bear can do to a heavy strong cooler", and it was crushed like a man crushed a beer can and believe me that impressed us with the strength of a big Black bear, can you image what a Grizzly bear with the strength of five strong humans can do, but at least they are indigenous to the western states and we camped out with them many times and one came to our camper door eight feet off the ground, and he looked down at me, and that is scary for sure. Glad we had a strong metal door on the 5th wheel, but they are nothing to mess with. So, the long and short is American is blessed with vast areas and these videos are fun to watch and it brings back many trips across out beautiful land. We run across many people on vacation from E.U. countries, as they love our huge set-aside national parks and wildlife, as much of Europe is loosing many wildlife areas, and we have been to most there and we can only hope to add more American set-aside areas for future national wild life growth. We are so lucky!
