First ever sail of a Cornish Crabber Shrimper 19. Launch in Penryn, plus some shakedown sails in Falmouth / Carrick Roads, Rivers Fal and Truro etc

Thanks so much for this, was walking from Flushing to Mylor this morning; so many Shrimpers. We used to have an “unmentionable” 26’ trailer sailer on a half tide mooring at Trevissome, opposite the Premier Marina. Had to sell it unfortunately. Looking forward to hiring a Shrimper from Mylor and popping round to the Helford for a picnic this summer some time. Was great to see the Shrimper in action to get familiar with things; super video, thanks so much! ⛵️🍾❤️

How lovely. We are new to Shrimper ownership with a mooring at Percuil. Can’t wait to get the old girl in the water in the Spring and get out and explore the Fal estuary

Welcome to Shrimper sailing from Eagle Owl #246. I sail in Lancashire and trailer sail. I hope you have joined the Shrimper Owners Association and that we see you at International Shrimper week.

Thanks for the warm welcome Ann. Fingers crossed for Shrimper Week. Falmouth’s been postponed (I joined the SOA even before she arrived). Fair winds.

I really like the look of the Shrimpers. But don't have a trailer nor a driveway to store it unfortunately. Does anyone keep theirs at the marina or a mooring all year around?

Yes, I do Ulas: she's on a swinging mooring all year, plus there are plenty of other Shrimpers in marinas and on moorings in the winter too.

@@chops That is great to hear and thank you for the very prompt answer! How often do you take it to out for antifouling etc? What are the typical costs of keeping it on swinging mooring all year round? I would assume somewhere in the order of about £1000-£1500 maybe?

@@ulascilingir coppercoat bottom, so a pressure hose off was sufficient this year, twice if in year-round. Swinging mooring - depends on which part of the country / world you keep it; mine’s the lower end of your range.
