We launched out of Kenner from Williams boat launch. Probably went like 8 miles out. Funny thing about this trip is I typically catch my shrimp off the seawall near orleans canal. The past couple years I wound up catching more shrimp in the cast net than we did from the boat. This year, none off the seawall but epic haul in the boat. Just look for muddy water, that's where the shrimp try to hide.

@@YeetOutdoors504 I'm just getting my boat back on the water after a long hiatus, and I'm having a lot of fabrication work done, so as soon as it's finished I'm going to start pulling my trawl again. I have been keeping up with the catch this year and it has been the best catch in decades, only problem, no one is paying stitch for shrimp at the dock. Can't even sell them sometimes so that is why I don't believe there are many boats out there. Some guys can't even cover costs after selling their catch and that's IF they can sell it. Damn imported shrimp is killing our fisherman. Now, for someone just going to fill a few freezers, there has never been a better time. Can you imagine what those shrimp will look like in a month or two with no pressure on them? They are going to be huge. Anyway, I really like the video. Your dad is awesome. Looks just like some of the guys I knew when I was young and pulling trawls in Fourchon.

Muddy water. We were trawling clearer water further out, shrimp like to hide where there's less visibility
