Thank you for this excellent video! Too many people, when making how to videos, get "chatty", talking more about their personal lives than they do about the techniques. Just as bad are the videos with no talking, instead, flashing text on the screen that is flashed too quickly. You stay on topic and give a wealth of informatio. Sincerely, a new subscriber.

I believe archival ink is oil based. That's what Tim Holtz said. I could be mistaken, that's what I remember. Good less expensive twisters can be used, just wrap masking or electrical tape around where you hold it to keep it from getting too hot.

Thank you for experimenting! The different media will sure up my shrink game. Ive been doing this for years.In the video you stated you cant put holes in the plastic after its shrunk. If you have a Dremel tool and tiny bit you can drill holes. I realize not everyone has access to this. Ive also used a hand drill but its not easy. I never would have thought to use water colors on plastic. Your frame idea might work as a stencil if baked to flatten. The difficulty you had in using a cutting machine demonstrates your need to upgrade to a heavier duty machine. Great job on the video. Thanks again. I'd love to see a video where you combine shrink projects into other projects, and the results from different brands of shrink plastic especially on inkjet plastic sheets. Did you know there is silver and gold shrink sheets?

Thanks for such a useful video! I use Grafix shrink material and love it, but I think what may set the Shrink Prink apart from other shrink materials is the "glazey" look of the finished product, almost like you have put a clear coat finish on it. I have put my order in and can't wait to experiment. I do have one question, can this material be heated/shrunk in an oven, rather than using a heat gun? (I currently use an old toaster oven)
@KerenTamir
@KerenTamir 4 жыл бұрын
so I used some of the grafix one but only the gold one so far and its way shinier, and I do think the shrink prink is a bit different. I haven't experimented with all yet. I do believe you can put in oven. I would also try a hair dryer.

I will be getting some of the shrink plastic as soon as we get our taxes back. 😁. It looks so much fun. I really can’t go buy a different heat tool, is there a way to lessen the effect of an embossing tool? Or would a hair drier on cool heat, work? Thank you.

Keren do you think this new shrink film is different from the shrinky dink film and if so could you explain the difference. I am going to try some of these mediums on the old stuff because the old melts the same. I have always colored what I was making before shrinking so I bet there is not much difference but curious to know. TFS you gave a real nice tutorial but just one thing i would have liked to have seen them up closer so I could see all the different mediums

I’ve never tried but I don’t know if it would work as the flower can’t shrink. I also didn’t try with heat embossing. I don’t know if it would shrink either. But you can apply afterwards

This is same as shrinks dinks? They sell shrinks dinks that you can run through either an ink jet or laser printer

@@KerenTamir Thanks for replying ! i just had a few more questions - at what temperature ? do we need to preheat the oven ? for how much time ? will the shrink prink become thick after shrinking?

Thanks for the demo Keren - my question would be how does this shrink product compare to the others? Ranger and several other companies make shrink plastic. Is Shrink Prink different? I wrote a blog entry about shrink plastic techniques 5 years ago (artistic-lore.blogspot.com/2015/11/magical-shrink-plastic.html) - lots of different and newer types now!

I haven't tried every shrink film on the market, but this one is smoother than shrinky dinks. there's some with colors, gold, silver, etc.

someone asked this above about comparison. I have a piece that my daughter made me with shrinky dink and the frosted rough side is much rougher than this one so not sure how it would react with certain products
