when i used to go fishing with my dad every saturday night when we were lifting fish up because we didnt have a net he taught me to grab the sniker and swivle then lift

Yakkas can be caught up that way, not easy but hit and miss but certainly not rare. I will have to try a big bait like a livie there next time!

You should look into those Hook'em stainless steel Jetty rod holders. Brilliant things for both wharf and jetty fishing.

I got reefed by a fish today. I think it’s a trev or king. Made 2 incredible fast runs for 4 seconds each. Using pe0.6 and 8lb leader. Do you know if trevs reef and what do you think it was. Using unweighted pilchard with burley

Wow, certainly those two species are probably the biggest culprits. Trevally definitely have a high tendency to reef, especially in close. Both will take pilchards as well

The ferry wharves are good places, there's a number of good places from Rosebay to Balmain east. Most do allow fishing at a reasonable range of hours so I reckon check a few of them out and see which ones you like!
