15:45 I think I like the base game tracks more on average. While the DLC definitely has some great tracks, there are just as many misses as hits for me. The base game is consistently good to great for the most part.

I was trying to find a decent combo to use Morton (just because I like Morton) and I was like "hey, Morton has low mini-turbo, let's try Biddybuggy!" Eventually I tried to go more speedy with the standard/pipe frame families and actually felt like I was getting better results. I thought I was just playing it weird, so glad to hear it makes sense with your explanation on the volcano track hahaha

I would try this but swap it with the Master Cycle. It has prerry much the same stats with just a bit more mt, but i would say that being on an inside drift is worse since you cant super bounce, cant course correct by hopping thus making turning alot harder and some fast strats just dont work or are alot harder

Wow you really just started KZfaq 3 months ago and became one of my favorite KZfaqrs when I don’t even have Mario kart 8. That’s crazy impressive, even day 1 you had basically perfect editing and commentating skill while knowing how to get pushed by the algorithm

It’s as if there’s a direct correlation between the get-hit-by-green-shell stat and invincibility; I tried using Baby Rosalina for a short time, and I swear I got hit way more often than usual.

When you were talking about how the game hates when you try to balance your stats, it reminded me of go-to build in the Wii U Mario Kart 8. Lemmy, B-Dasher, Cyber Slick, and Waddle Wing. Little me thought getting as much speed as I could with Lemmy was the play. These days I still use Lemmy, I just focus more on what he is already good at.

I feel like that last race may exemplify how the lower speed of the combo can have a psychological advantage when frontrunning. Cuz everyone expects a frontrunner to be moving pretty quickly, combine that with the lower traction resulting in some wider turn radiuses and you just have a recipe for people to get trailed while drifting behind you.

15:47 while I don't own the DLC, it's clear that they have a much lower quality than the regular ones, as there's not much variety in the detailing and textures. They reuse textures a lot and the track also seems to be way wider for some reason? Making you feel smaller than in original, and which has a better sense of scale. I have played the DLC via online however.

I understand your sentiment with “bad can be hype” but I personally look at it from the other angle. Someone’s favorite kart is the Tri-Speeder. Or the P-Wing. Or they really like Monster tires. And sure, they can use those parts, but at quite the disadvantage then they’d normally have. I’m of the opinion that every part should be good so that people can choose what they want to use, without having to worry about bad stats.

This might be a little worse with Isabelle and monsters. It’ll have some more acceleration and traction, but it loses a lot of handling and invincibility, on top of monsters obviously making you a bigger target

Lemmy's bad stats creates smaller breakaways which in turn makes everyone's items worse when in 1st. Combine this with high invincibility and you have a a weirdly resilient post-bagging lead.
