What a beautiful estate, nice to see the walk along the canal, completely agree with you it's a lovely view in the rain, makes it very atmospheric! Looks like the doggos enjoyed their walk too. Loved the history, appreciated listening to it. WOW, the Yew Tree is monstruous, very very impressive. Enjoyed this very much, thank you

Nice walk for a rainy day 😊 I like the different bridges. Looks a nice iron bridge but particularly Love the stones ones. That was a gorgeous one you crossed over the river, so many arches. Interesting to learn about the different ones on this trail.

The Yew tree is amazing occupying 3/4 of an acre and over 500 ft in circumference and is beautiful as it is enormous. After crossing the historic bridge, this place is perfect location to lounge and contemplate the splendor of this gorgeous countryside. Nice video share. +S*238

Wonder if Shug has the same etymology as Shuk? The structure with the inscription reminds me of the architecture of John Wood and son in Bath. They were 18th Century Freemasons and revivalist Druids and they incorporated lots of mystical symbolism into their work

Interesting theory, just had a look on a site and it says it was fashioned by the Flemish sculptor Peter Scheemakers. but on another it says he did the picture so still confusing mate

The Shepherds of Arcadia was painted by Poussin, but the Shugborough monument seems to be in reverse. In the book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail suggested that Poussin was a member of the Priory of Sion who are supposed to be the keepers of the Holy Grail.. it’s all very fascinating.. I think it may also be mentioned in Dan Brown’s novel The Da Vinci Code. ❤

At least it’s a healthy obsession 😂 Have you visited the Yew tree in Llangernyw North Wales ? It’s amazing and is dated between 4,000 and 5,000 years old.

Yes, amazing place and some intriguing ancient looking stuff at the back of the church, Darley Dale Yew was impressive as well, got them on a play list 'visits with amazing trees', its an obsession that gets you out n about😄 @@Walks-with-Dave
