Exactly! I try to avoid being alone with students. If it is unavoidable, all doors are open and there is a good amount of space between us. And I am saying all of this as a woman! What this man did MAY have been innocent, but he should know, as a male in education, that all it takes is one accusation to ruin your entire career and maybe even life if you end up in jail. Every action has a consequence.

This is still inappropriate no matter what a person race is.. just because someone may have not suffered the consequences of an inappropriate behavior that doesn’t give anyone the right to do it. This is not a race issue it’s a moral issue.. 😮. Made a comment about how mothers allow their daughters to braid boys hair on the porch . They most often be sitting between the girls legs while the girls have on short shorts with tank tops on popping bubble gum.. It’s unladylike for girls to do this 🤨. The mother and the fathers have accepted this behavior so this is possibly why this young teacher didn’t see anything wrong with it. 😮. Think about it look out side of the box.. Grooming little girls 👧🏾 often starts with something as innocent as ( playing in a grown man’s hair, sitting on his lap, play fighting, him pulling her braids, she rubbing lotion on his back, calling a girl to his office by herself, a kiss on the cheek etc ) He may not have even thought that his behavior was inappropriate but they fired him because of the allegations were made.. we have to protect children.

He coaches ⚽️ as well. Yes teachers should have boundaries this didn’t call for FIRING. I’ve been in school and connected with my teachers Music, Industrial Arts, Gym & Sports 🏐🏀🥎; my coach even parked his 🚘 in our driveway during 🏀 season. Today; ppl quick to sexualize innocent activities with teacher/student etc., 👀. The parents had no issues and supported him via letters ..🤷🏾♀️

Folks have to remember, to keep things PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMES. Your jobs are to TEACH. Not be friends, friends with benefits, parents, etc. Don't cross that line. Teachers these days are off the chain. You can EASILY be labeled as a CREEP or PREDATOR working jobs/careers dealing with kids. Best to remember that.

Children are incredibly impressionable, and what seems innocent or helpful to an adult can send the wrong message to young minds. While it might be a simple pastime for him, it could significantly impact the students. I'd feel the same if it were a woman. I'd be very upset if a teacher had my child do this and posted them online. If a teacher has time for this, the whole class had better be getting straight A's. Otherwise, shouldn't he focus on more pressing tasks, like tutoring?

He got fired because the livestream put the school in a bad light. "This is what goes on in this school." If not for the livestream, they could have warned him. I taught. In my school, if a teacher had seen it, they would have pulled him aside and warned him. If Admin had seen him, they may have just warned him and did a couple of walk ins or put him on notice. The livestream forced the issue.

You obviously don’t have any children! Only a m0r0n would say this guy is a great teacher! His behavior was INAPPROPRIATE! No teacher should be asking MINORS for their cell numbers & giving them his cell number ! No MINOR student should be touching their teacher AND vice-versa! Teachers have to set boundaries with their students! They ARE not in school to be buddies with their teachers and hanging out with them! He also had no right to be filming MINOR kids that isn’t his own child on the internet! That is illegal! The school have to ask parents permission (ask parents to sign consent forms) to even film or photograph them at school activities ect Even if it’s on his own property it’s still inappropriate, because most schools & jobs have code of conduct & policies that governs inappropriate behavior off campus too (ex: if kids film a fight off school grounds they can get suspended because it’s in the code if conduct students/parents sign every school year).

You only get your hair styled or unbraided by a professional stylist, family member or boo thang. None of those titles should be applied to the girls in this situation in a school environment. I think he got what he wanted-Fired. He was probably tired of dealing with unruly students and the bureaucracy in the system. He knew he crossed a line. In this pic he just looked done, like "whatever".

I was a teacher and am a school counselor now. There must be boundaries when it comes to working with children. He was there to educate them (curriculum); not to get a hair do. I think that he should have been suspended and given professional development. Though, firing is not completely out of the question (I understand); they could have gone after his teaching license. The teacher got taught a hard lesson.

My mom is a cosmetologist and sometimes would still braid hair at home. She only did that for women and girls. Men that wanted cornrows had to go to the shop.

Kids are at school for one reason and one reason only, be that class or recess. And while they are doing this, they are not doing what their parents sent them to school to do or what the school is duty bound to teach and yes, boundaries. Respect for authority is also important.
