Awesome, I only spent 3 weeks at Clyde.... Holiday relief spent time at Sydney Yard, Darling Harbour, Darling Island, Botany, Meeks Road, Homeshush Saleyard, Mortdale CS and Trackfast, Car and Wagon grades.

Beautiful, just beautiful! So many memories.

Seeing the Clyburn Station platform brings back memories...as an apprentice fitter I did 6 months at Clyde using that platform every day....out of normal hours we had to let the guard know to signal the driver to let us off on the way to work and had to flag down suburbans on the way home.....all now long gone and no sign of where it used to be....thanks.

Excellent video Alan. Thanks for sharing. So much there for the historian or modeller with such a variety of locomotives, rollingstock & yard scenes. Some of the characters and shunting techniques reminded me of the film footage of the Darling Island shunters in the 70's.

WOW.. Thanks for this footage. Brings back many memories, I spent many MANY hours in this yard shunting and sleeping on 48's and 49's at this period and later on in the 90's. Wasn't all that fond of doing it at the time, but I sure do miss it now.

Great vid Allan, first time I've seen footage of a train on duck creek branch, It would've taken nerves of steel to stop traffic on Parramatta road, scary to see the speed 4917 was carrying for the climb up to Clyde yard, suggests full tankers.

Fantastic video. I love just the OHS differences between then and today. The shunting and driving operations themselves are great, but 29:43 flying across Paramatta rd like that is just mind blowing.

Great bit of History, no High-Vis or Safety Boots. 86 class Electric Locos bringing coal from Lithgow. Early Tangara set . Completely mind blowing !

This is good quality footage of the last years of Sydney as a working industrial city. Nice memories. BTW, 29:48 is an extraordinary level crossing by todays standards. What road is that?

Does anyone know a Chris Brown who used to work as a shunter at Clyde in the late 80's and early 90's? He drove a maroon Gemini, if that helps jog anyone's memory. Just an old acquaintance I'd like to get in touch with again. Thanks
