Higher output subjectively tilts the preference for the Shure. EQ cartridges to identical output... then compare. In spite of the higher output the Shure sounds more dynamic with better transient snap. I always thought the 2M Red to sound a bit soft in the highs anyway.

Very cool video comaprison. Thanks for that ! I had my M55 since 1976 and every time I tried another cartridge the only one that came close was stanton. Yet, I always find myself sticking with the M55. Sound it brings is solid, full, No harshness, very real sounds and you can listen to it play for hours with no fatigue. If the rest of the sound system is good, you can actualy hear the difference between record companies and the studio's the sound was recorded. Ok, I may be getting a little crazy, But it is there if you want to enjoy all that.

It's true George. I was a disc jockey for 20 years. and I always worked with shure m55. there is probably a better one.... but i always prefer shure.

I agree. I have M44 body with Jico N55E stylus. I can compare it against Audio Technica AT95E. While AT has more relaxed and laid down sound, it can become boring though. Shure has more punchy, sharper sound, in some aspect similar to Ortofon OM but unlike Ortofon the Shure won't become fatiguing. Compared to AT the Shure is somewhat more detailed and it handles inner grooves way better. The Shure has one downside however, on some louder records it tends to induce sibilance distortion where AT and Ortofon lacks it.

@@NiiOnLood Yea, the Sure is my favorite for many reasons and were taking the same ones here. One thing I didnt mention was I did a strange test with it. I have an original Frank Sinatra Album from back in the 60's and its in brand new condition. I had a friend give the same record but it was from a couple years later somewhere in the mid 70's. I played them back to back and they sounded different. The Original was much better quality. But the test showed me you can hear the difference if that's what your into. But it can be heard. I also have the half speed cut from masters in England of the Dark side of the moon. DAM! I compared that to the CD and the record wins hands down!

La cápsula Shure tiene mayor potencia de la salida con 6.2 mV y la Ortofon 5.5 mV. y se aprecia claramente ese detalle dándole más presencia y golpe a la señal de audio. La Shure sale triunfante en esta prueba. Lástima, como ya lo comenté en alguna ocasión, que Shure no produzca más cartuchos fonográficos. Te envidio Sergio porque dispones de una buena colección de cápsulas de esta legendaria marca. Saludos 🖐️😎

Me sumo a la petición de que normalices ambos canales a la misma amplitud a la hora de hacer estas comparativas. Una cápsula con más salida puede dar la falsa impresión de ser más dinámica que una más silenciosa.

yo tengo 2 uno que me vino con una bandeja y otro que era de mi padre, mi padre decía que lo mejor que hay en cartuchos es Shure.

Gracias por los comentarios Fernando. te comento que , a como esta el dolar aquí, las capsulas ortofon se fueron a las nubes en precio. ni hablar de la 2M black o bronze. cuestan como dos salarios completos.

Hola! excelente video, estoy que me cambio mi 2m red porque no soporto su in-groove distortion, pero veo que este shure aun en las canciones del comienzo suena mejor a mi gusto. Entre el M55 y el M44-7 cual crees que será un mejor upgrade desde el 2m red? Gracias por tu respuesta y excelente canal colega.

Gracias por los comentarios. yo usé la Shure M55 durante mis 20 años de Disc Jockey y para mi es la mejor capsula que hay. no encuentro mucha diferencia con la M44 -7. la 2M red siempre tiene distorsion en el surco interno. como también se puede apreciar en mi otro video, cuando la pruebo con un Single. Saludos.

Tengo la chance de comprar una pua Shure N55E original, nueva en su caja sellada. Tambien tengo la chance de comprar la Jico N55E, tambien nueva. Tienes experiencia con estas puas? Cual crees sea mejor?
