A quick demo on the Shure MV88 mic for iPhone.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK IN THE COMMENTS
Just bought mine and teste it with an acoustic drum kit.
It's not an extensive test, as I'm using it in only one position and I didn't try different settings.
Let's see if you guys find it somehow useful so I can go further and do another more complete video.

Sound quality is much better with the MV88 but the real stereo separation, not so much.

Sorry it took forever to answer. It was just a quick test, I didn’t played a lot with the settings, maybe there is a way to improve this…

@@dektrimusic But even if you do... wouldn't it just be an artificial effect from the software? I guess we won't really know unless someone takes it apart, but it doesn't look like it had two mics in it.

Which one sounds better? The built in or the Shure? Less compress??

The Shure can handle some high frequencies that the built in mic can’t. The cymbals and mainly the hi-hat sounds significantly better.

Talking about compression, in the mic app (that by the way, it’s mandatory to use other wise the mic doesn’t work) you can set how many compression do you want… and there is also Eq controls.
