If you are the only player left in the game you ignore Combat Zone and Sabotage. So Quinn wouldn't have lost both engine at 9:00. EDIT: Should have listen to the rest of the video first. Quinn point it out right after around 10:50

Just played my first (and second) games of Galaxy Trucker. Absolute joy, and I only "won" both of them because the second time through the player with the most cash spent it outbidding me trying to blow up my ship, only to fail to realize he had destroyed a meaningless cargo bay.

The earliest rounds are the most random, but also have the lowest stakes and are the shortest. The later ships are so large you will be keeping track of battery power and when to use boosters and whatnot. To be sure, the majority of the decision making will be during the building phase, but choosing the order in which you do things makes a huge difference when unsalvageable pieces are getting blown off your ship left and right.

At 17:30 If you need to loss goods but don't have enought, you have to make the difference with batteries. So Quinn would have lost his batteries on his ship (unless he had enough laser power).

At 18:15, Use the wrong side again for intruder. Should have you the right-hand rule. So the predator would have ate the humans at the back of the ship. He would have latter on loose the remaining humans with the pirate card.

The first encounter card with the predator was played wrong. You need to count the space the predator lands in. So it wouldn't have ate all of the crew member. Also, it was right hand side card. Not left hand side

Whenever the timer runs out, a player MAY flip it. When the final timer runs out construction ends. So if no one flips it, you have a long time to build the ships.

The timer has to be flipped the number of times the round is before the final flip made by the first player (e.g. Once for round one, twice for round two etc). Quineloe is right though that this rule is loosely enforced. The manual makes it clear that the timer must be flipped a certain number of times before the final flip (because this gives an absolute manageable minimum for ship building), but you can spend as long as you want between flips (until someone finishes of course). Tl:dr Quinns and Paul don't get the timer rules wrong.

wouldn't the left hand rule have meant that the fourth move of the predator would have taken it to Paul's cargo bay, not the crew quarters?

Entertaining review, but not convinced about the game. It seems like 95% of the game is all in setting up your ship (which apparently you are rushed to do) and the rest of the time is just watching to see how the ship faces off against random encounters. There seems to be very little you actually do as a player once the ship building is over... If there was more strategy involved in the missions rather than luck, the potential is there for something really cool. Oh well.

I think you really misunderstood how to use that timer, and you refused to take advice on it too. It appears that you believe the slower player has to stop builiding immediately when the faster player is done, which gets this game even more stressful than needed.

No, they used the timer correctly. The manual writes that you get 30 seconds per number in the round (so a minute for round 2) before the final flip can be made, and then the first player flips to give a final 30 seconds to all the slower players. Watch from 11:49, Quinn's finishes his round 2 ship and then relaxes. They Comment on how Paul still has 30 seconds left on the timer. This isn't incorrect. They do get a couple of rules wrong, as all board gaming groups do (e.g. when one ship enters a combat zone) but they don't get it wrong on this point.
