Both Geeta Dutt and Guru Dutt are my favorite. The voice of Geeta Dutt was very melodious and she was very versatile singer. She could have given number of memorable songs. Other side Guru Dutt portrayed a story of a man and life of an artiste in his pictures so perfectly that we could relate those characters in to real life. I wish they both had continued supporting and loving each other. We could have seen great movies and listened to more beautiful songs

"Kagaz ke Phool," was semi-autobiographical and proved to be prophetic. It took a visionary like him to create classics. He made commercially successful movies, and flops too. He, however, did not direct them all, specifically, "Chaudahvi ka Chand" and "Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam." A genuinely sensitive person, Guru Dutt wasn't cut out for the world he lived in. His creative genius found full freedom in his artistic ventures. As far as his personal life goes, no outsider can claim to know the complete truth.

This is the tragedy of Indian women's life that inspite of being successful in their respective field, they were and are forced to sacrifice their carrier. But the same men normally and usually project themselves to be very modern and forward thinking. Guru Dutt Saheb made films showing women in liberated form, but in real life he was fiercely male souvinist and conservative in thinking , who spoiled his wife's carrier by restricting her singing. Chances of his recovery were rather slim. However, he survived and got well.
