I doubt Lata Mangeshkar ever be in love with anyone other than music. She has worked with many many men (music directors singers movie producers directors) in her career. Many of them must have fell in love with her as its quite natural. She's beautiful ever smiling charming and extremely talented. But she had always maintained safe distance from them if she felt something weird in their behavior.

She had every right to fall in love and maybe she did but her devotion for music was above all her worldly desires and she chose to stay unmarried. Her main love was music and she was married to it. Her singing has given us so much joy that I would have loved to see her happy with whoever she wanted to be with. She was a divine soul who was in human form….at least for me she was and still is someone who lifts me up with her voice whenever I fall.

It is said that Lata's first love affair was with music director/ singer C. Ramchandra. He was a married person. He clearly told Lata that he may have affairs with many girls and he can not get married with them. He published their love affair in his autobiography. It is said that Lata managed to buy all the books (C. R.'s autobiography) and got them burnt.

I'm glad she never married. In those days - Marriage came with a lot of compromises/ sacrifices/ demands & expectations. Her singing profession would have definitely been cut short long ago. It's always been difficult to handle the demands of home & children along with a job. The marital lives of the famous South Indian singer M S Subhalaxmi & Bengal's Geeta Dutt are well known old time examples! Even Asha Tai's wedded life wasn't easy to handle.

Don't know whether to believe about links with Bhupen Hazarika.She and Rajsingh loved each other a lot n didn't marry,remained single.Rajsingh passed away in 2009.So how can she be linked to Bhupen Hazarika during same period??

And he disappeared from the music industry. Died poor. So, she knew who is using her. Hazarika wife wanted her husband name to ruined in dirt. Because of divorce.
