Hey everyone! I know this little channel is mostly known for its high end thumbnails and editing, but unfortunately, due to the mediocre revenue from KZfaq and inconsistent sponsors, I REALLY doubt I’ll be able to continue this channel going forward without some help. Please consider subscribing on Patreon, Kofi or KZfaq memberships. @@Cruddy129 There are multiple times in the main storyline, before SteelWool and before even when Scholastic started up Fazbear Frights, where Scott directly changed the lore to better fit or avoid popular theories, and no theories were more popular than Matpat's. Hell, some of them are still considered objectively canon despite having no real proof behind them, just because one wild theory video claimed it might be the case and people repeated it until it ingrained itself as fact - for instance, the Bite of '87. There are no details on it, because it was retconned to '82 and finally '83, and its main thing of being 'the reason they can't walk around in the day anymore' was retconned too, but people will swear up and down that it was specifically Mangle and Jeremy Fitzgerald, despite those same people insisting that Michael become some kind of amoeba of storywriting and assimilated every single other night guard in the series, but Jeremy's exempt from that because he's their special child that they want the messy fox to keep a chunk of. Stuff like this is incredibly common, but the books are worse - they're not canon to begin with. They're produced by Scholastic, by a team of writers unaffiliated with Scott and with SteelWool, and there's nothing in them that isn't literally just officially sponsored fanfiction. And, as fanfiction tends to be, some of them are incomprehensibly weird, and others are just theft of ideas - several are just fan theories, and a significant few are really just cookie-cutter horror stories from the likes of Goosebumps with 'Faz-' in front of whatever product they have. Still, taking from Game Theory (among others, such as several Markiplier quotes brought into the games) has been a running theme in the games' own storyline as well.

The books were always a bad idea for a series where the lore was a huge part of what popularized it. As soon as you introduce more minds to contribute to your world, you give up that which gives people trust in the story: a vision. That's what FNaF no longer has. A unified vision. When Scott was the only one in charge, there was an unspoken trust that, even if it wasn't always consistent, the story was progressing to an end point that would eventually make sense. Because Scott had the answers in his own mind. Now, the story is split between Scott's original series, the creative heads at Steel Wool, AND at least 3 different authors, with seemingly minimal communication between them. Scott himself has confirmed as much. He has opened the franchise up so that others have control over what happens, what characters are made, and where the series goes. He may request certain plot threads to be included, but the fact that he has given up total control in this fashion means he has given up any real consistency that *may* have existed prior. The series lost what made the story so fascinating to begin with. Consistency, and the promise of a vision.

THe books weren't a bad idea, the problem comes with Scott just making stories that barely connected in the end to the game's story. You have the SIlver EYes books that give a different fate to Afton then the games as well as Baby's origin contradicting her origin in SL. You have a story where a game dev aparently came up with SPringtrap as a game character rather then making a game ABOUT the already existing Springtrap, a story where another game dev seems to make the first couple FNAF games, yet it's very clear he's making them not actually knowing all the details of hwo the robots exactly look or even having researched the rumors of what happened with Freddy's Pizza. THen you have a story that basically gives and alternate version of FNAF 3, yet from certain details clearly can't fit in with FNAF 3, or the Silver Eyes novels. Essentially he made so many stories that contradict each other and even very basic details seen in the games. Scott just ended up making a convoluted mess despite how much I actually loved each story.

The Pizza Plex (I think its something called that? Idk I stopped collecting the books lol. It was just too much) are just stories explaining Security Breach. In my opinion, I disliked security breach, it didn't have what the other games had and it felt a little cheesy. Edit: I think I'm wrong about the last 2 series. What brought me into FNAF was the story laid underneath the obvious story. On the surface, it's a chucky cheese knockoff with creepy and glitchy acting animatronics that attempt to murder you. But then you notice clues here and there hinting at a far bigger mystery. That was such a unique and incredible style of storytelling for a game that engages you to find out more while not giving it to you openly, and it feeds into that mystery aspect of us, to find out the truth. But now the lore is so complicated and confusing at this point, and clear answers are next to never coming. Like reading a murder mystery that doesn't tell you who the culprit was at the end, very unsatisfying. I guess though, I'm sorta glad we got the GGY thing, even if I hate that answer. Like, the only way you could've guessed it was Gregory was only because he and Vanessa were the only two humans in the damn game and otherwise nothing really lines up so you have to assume abunch of other unmentioned manipulative crap for it make sense.

Yeah, the story really should have ended at an earlier point. If I were to summarise how I think the story should have just... finished, it'd be as follows; FNAF 1 happens. FNAF 2 happens. FNAF 3 happens. FNAF 4 tells the story of the victim of the Bite of 87/83. Pizerria Simulator (with some modifications to get rid of the book tie-ins) then has all the animatronics rounded up and burned, freeing the souls and trapping Afton in hell. UCN then shows his eternal torment for his crimes. Story then ends. No extraneous material necessary. Yes, I'll completely ignore Sister Location because it frankly offers nothing of value to the greater story.

I'm all for lore and unconventional storytelling, but FNAF has become so bloated and has us bending over backwards to try and fit every bit of evidence given, at some point I'd just like a more straightforward story with compelling characters and plot beats - not just a jumble of minigames and newspaper clippings and phone call snippets cobbled together to make a story that ultimately doesn't feel well told.

@@riccardoclerici4789 I disagree. I think the lore peaked with FNAF 2. it's complicated, but Matpat's theory on it pretty easily put all of the pieces in place. in retrospect, it's very easy to understand, what with all the nonsesne we have now. I'd say FNAF 3 is where it went downhill. The Shadow Animatronics being bumped to main characters didn't really make sense, Purple Guy's motivation to return to the pizzaria wasn't established - like - at all, the robots being destroyed releasing their souls was wonky, and the happiest day minigames didn't have a good explanation in a bad way. It was the weakest of the original trilogy. FNAF 4 made things worse and Sister Location was a complete and utter dumpsterfire lorewise.

IMO the books should always have been treated as what they are: merch. The Silver Eye trilogy was a slog, but the Fazbear Frights were fun goofy little what-if scenarios, and I think they could even be used to confirm things in the games. MatPat talked about them describing a canon rather than a continuity - e.g. telling you what's possible in the game's universe, rather than telling you things that have actually happened in it. Insisting on continuity means that "1:35am" has to happen in a universe where Springtrap M-Preg and Fazgoo are a Thing, and why would anyone want that?

I personally feel like the franchise started going downhill after the fourth game (at least in terms of story since it started to focus more on sci-fi which Scott has admitted) and the books didn't help at all. I liked the silver eyes, at least it had more to do with the animatronics being haunted than whatever started going afterwards with the whole Charlie is s robot, William mad scientist, remnant and illusion discs that I just hate since now anything happens in a game it can just be explained with: "well, it's using an illusion disc" Or "this character it's a robot". I feel like Scott wanted to tie all the missing links but over explained a lot of things that could be easily left alone like why the animatronics are haunted with the whole remnant or why William decided to start killing kids to make experiments. Fazbear frights are my least favorite books by far, you do get a decent story from time to time, but most of them are the same thing with people losing their bodies or becoming robots and now Fazbear Inc from a small pizzeria became a multimillion company or something because they have science kits, game studios or anything at this point considering they just slap the name of the corporation or character to make it FNAF related when you could easily remove it and the story would still feel the same.

Honestly yeah, FNAF 4 onward things got extra complicated, Fazbear Frights was something that should be fairly far separated from the rest of the timelines. The Trilogy? Honestly was fine with it. At least in the books, Robot "Humans" were a special thing that ONLY Henry was able to manage. Illusion discs were powerful, as far as a Hologram with sound goes. It doesnt work perfectly, and i'm not QUITE sure how range would work with it, but it's something that one's able to detect, even with the raw senses, and especially with Cameras. Mad Scientist? Well... if you found a means for STRAIGHT UP IMMORTALITY, a thing people have absolutely slaughtered eachother for since time immemorial, well, of course :V Remnant, conceptually, kind of interesting, though as with many things in the series, it's vague and muddy, and comes in chunks, with legwork to figure it out. Though it also contradicts itself on occasion as well, especially with the earlier games (before SL). If i had to obliterate anything from the series to clean things up, honestly i'd probably target either FNAF 4 (and thus everything onward) or Fazbear Frights as a whole...

1. The Marionette mask was found in "Fazbear Frights" even though the maze was clearly hidden away, since Vanny needed Freddy to bust a way in. The hole isn't there in "Tales From The Pizzaplex", so it wasn't the cops. 2. Freddy was possessed right when he broke into the ruins of "Freddy Fazbear Pizza Place" maze. He calls Blob his friends, meaning he has to be Evan or Charlotte. If Stitchlinegames were true, it can't be either, because the cops took everything as evidence, so their souls would follow their vessels like Charlotte. 3. Afton has both arms in "The Man In Room 1280". 4. "Into The Pit" shows 6 Missing Children's incident" kids. If this is just showing all of Afton's murder victims, then there would be A LOT more. If it's showing the important victims, Charlotte would be included. That means that if Andrew is one of them, he would have to replace someone, like Cassidy. We know he has to be one of them because we see his hair in Golden Freddy in "The New Kid". 5. The Marionette mask would have no reason to be in blob after "Fazbear Frights". William wouldn't want it, and Fazbear Entertainment would have no way of knowing where it was. William wouldn't even want it in Blob, because it would have been what screwed him over when he was the Afton Amalgamation. 6. We see Andrew possessing Golden Freddy in "The New Kid. But when all the suits are destroyed in "FOLLOW ME", we only see 5 kids. 7. Cassidy is with William in "Curse Of Dreadbear", "Special Delivery" and "Security Breach". That can't be the case if Stitchlinegames is true, because she would be in Blob. 8. The conversation between Princess Cassidy and the Old Man in "Security Breach" is basically the same as the once between Vengeful Spirit and Old Man Consequences in "Ultimate Custom Night". Old Man Consequences tells Vengeful Spirit to rest, they ignore him and continue what they were doing. Old Man tells Cassidy to rest, she ignores him and continues what she was going. 9. We get a reference to Chica's line in "Ultimate Custom Night" about being the first and seeing everything in Princess Quest, connecting Cassidy to UCN. 10. "Curse Of Dreadbear" only has 8 graves surrounding William. Evan would have one because the game is shown to tie back to him. Elizabeth would get one because she is Evan's sister, was shown to exist in FNAF 4 (which "Curse Of Dreadbear" also ties into), and is an Afton (which, Curse Of Dreadbear" also ties back to). The others would be Evan's friends, Charlotte and the 5 "Missing Children's Incident" kids. 11. While "Ultimate Custom Night" does show a 7th kid, it's most likely Evan, since FNAF World also has Evan as kid #7, separated from the murder victims and William. Foxy's episode being skipped over would just be because that one kid wouldn't have been a murder, so they skip to the actual murders. 12. Funtime Freddy doesn't become Ennard in "Fazbear Frights". While I did used to think he was just a prototype, there is no reason he wouldn't use Counter Freddy. He even says he he like skilling people, meaning he would have been part of "Circus Baby's Pizza World" and/or Circus Baby's Entertainment And Rental". And William kept all the unused Funtimes in "Circus Baby's Entertainment And Renta;", as shown by the Ennard mask, Lolbit, Bonnet and Yenndo. Both Funtime Freddy and Counter Freddy even have the same colors. 13. In "Security Breach", the only collectable plushie for Nightmarionne is hidden behind an Endo mural that has Logbook Cassidy in a FNAF 4 bed. Nightmarionne's only canon appearance is in "Ultimate Customer Night", connecting Cassidy t UCN once again. We know we are meant to pay attention to this mural because it's the only one in the Endo Nursery that has no Endo in it. 14. William needed another entity to keep him around in "Fazbear Frights". Andrew was gone, and Eleanor abandoned him. The Mimic Virus (Glitchtrap) would never become a thing, and HW - Ruin wouldn't happen. 15. Vanny needed Freddy to bust into the "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place" Maze because William was still in there. Otherwise, there would be no reason. So William wouldn't be in the Hospital like in "Fazbear "Frights". 16. Vanny would have no way of getting Afton's body. He had no next of kin/remaining family members who were with him, so he would have been cremated. 17. Andrew's death doesn't fit anywhere in the games, and is never elaborated on in "Fazbear Frights", despite being a main character. Jake is explained, Larson is explained, but all we know about Andrew is that he was a 6th Missing Children's Incident" kid in the Stitchline who was never implied in any game properly, possessed Stitchline Golden Freddy and eventually attached himself to William. If he simply replaced Cassidy, who most likely did all this in the games, then there wouldn't be much need to explain, because his story would be Cassidy's story. The Novels booted out a "Missing Children's Incident" kid before, so why should Stitchline be any different? Since Stitchlinegames doesn't really work, Frailty either implies that Eleanor is just in more then one timeline like many other characters, or that there is an entity in the Gameline like her. There are hints at a girl who likes Chica living in the Pizzaplex (most likely the girl from RUIN). This girl is also tied to the Staff Bot Silo, since some of her Chica shrines have sticky notes from the Silo. That means that this girl is most likely a robot. And she also seems to have something to do with the Aftons since the Silo has a recreation of them. And if RUIN Girl is this girl, then the fact that she has pigtails, paired with everything else, makes it very possible that this si somehow Elizabeth in a new body. This could somehow have something to do with the Frailty entity.

Freddy's AI is trying to think that was he the only Freddy in world 2. If Freddy was possessed then why would Freddy obey his programming in FNAF 1 the animatronics never obey their programming 3. If Freddy was possessed then why Freddy needs battery in FNAF 1 the animatronics were roaming around and their battery is not going down 4 the real reason Freddy is helping gregory or not get hacked well back in GGYs story patient 46 (aka Gregory) has been tampering with animatronics programming and that makes sense because in security breach Freddy didn't get hacked during show and when glitch trap virus was trying to get in Freddy's system Freddy immediately rebooted safe mode and that made malfunction

1. This is a good point, but we know that Mike and William escaped, so maybe the puppet could've also escaped 2. He calls the glamrocks his friends, and the ending makes it clear he isn't possessed 3. It never even mentions his arms, so he could be missing one, plus the remnant he had from Andrew possessing him could regenerate his skin 4. We see in security breach, ucn and fnaf vr (aswell as small implications In fnaf 4 and world) that there are 6 mci kids in the games, the main source for 5 aka the newspapers where almost fully retconned, so why would they only have 1 detail right? And most the other minigames have arguments to why there aren't 6 kids, we see in princess quest that Cassidy walked in on William killing the kids a while after he did it, so she doesn't appear in foxy go go go, we see only 4 kids in gggl, so that isn't much if a point, and for fnaf 6 the screen cuts if right after Cassidys grave, so there could still be another one 5. Afton didn't make the blob, the blob was made after the fnaf 6 fire 6. because we don't see golden Freddy destroyed, so not every soul from golden Freddy had to go to the backroom, 7. Stichline doesn't say she's in the blob, the blob never appears in stichline, if you are talking about the amalgamation, not only does it occur before fnaf security breach but it also only has a handful of confirmed souls, that being Fritz and Charlotte, none others being confirmed to be in there 8. Cassidy being toyshnk is already directly debunked, but omc tells Cassidy to leave her demon (William) to his demons (Vs) which basically confirms that Cassidy isnt vs 9. She says she saw everyone die, which would include Cassidy and Vs and all of the others 10. The souls in the graves are clearly mad at William, not letting him leave, Elizabeth literally helps William, and crying child is either long gone or still alive, and one could be Henry but that still leaves a missing spot 11. Fnaf world shows us crying child isn't the 7th, it shows that he isn't even in that group of kids, there are 6 graves of already dead kids and one further back, being charlotte, meaning 6 mci kids, and also William directly kills all of them within about a week, which is the mci, who die on the same day in the actual games, William kills Charlotte years before the mci, so she can't be one of those, meaning there are 6 mci kids 12. We literally see in Henry's blueprints it showing funtime Freddy was in ennard, and also who the hell is counter Freddy? 13. How did you get from Cassidy being partually connected to nightmare to that being connected to ucn? Also there are other golden things in the game like the plush literally called golden Freddy which don't relate to her at all 14. He needed something else to keep his body alive, there were other souls trying to get control and he can't do it by himself, meanwhile the glitchtrap virus is him and only him, 15. If William was still stuck down there, why do we see that he escaped in pizzeria SIM? And how would he become glitchtrap, it's literally impossible if he didn't leave 16. Ye, just ignore Michael Afton, who's clearly still alive as we see in submechnaphobia, fnaf AR with the "M.Afton" email, fnaf security breach tih his room in use, and before you say Michael wouldn't help him, Michaels whole story through the end of fnaf 4 to fnaf sl is to directly help William and then after that it's to get answers from him, he can't do that if William is dead, so he would try to keep William alive 17. Becuase Andrew is toyshnk, and Cassidy being toyshnk got directly debunked multiple times, Cassidy parallels Michael brooks, she has no parallels to Andrew apart from possessing golden Freddy, apart from that they're the exact opposites, and we see about half a dozen times in the games that there are 6 mci vicitm, like secuity breach saying it twice, fnaf 4 possibly implying it, fnaf world making it obvious, fnaf ucn and cod making it blatantly obvious, so there aren't any issues with that theory and it's heavily implied so why would it not be true? Stichline games does work perfectly fine, only the first issue is a slightly valid issue with the theory, and it's only slight, Fe could just take the mask from the police after the case is closed While I agree this is possible, I think it could be the revelation of a fourth Afton, atleast that's the most popular theory about it, as Elizabeth is shown to be a different character from post it kid a handful of times, the fact post it made elizabeth at her family's table, while there's another place for her, the fact she's friends with the mci, which Elizabeth isnt, the fact she likes ice cream, which Elizabeth gets killed by, so she clearly doesn't like it anymore, things like that and alot of other details hint at the fourth Afton kid being Susie or Cassidy, but since we see that Cassidy wasn't lured and Susie was, and we know Afton atleast slightly cared for his kids, it seems to be Cassidy, (and for other points but there are to many of said points to put into this comment, as it's long enough already)

@@irladovelasquez975 animatronics' AI always had more influence over the souls; the animatronics in fnaf 2 are fooled by the mask, springtrap's costume is probably attracted by the sound lure not william, the puppet can't escape if the music is playing and can't help to fall for lefty's trap, circus baby AI is in control but has some memories and personality traits as elizabeth, the other funtimes are possessed but their AI is in control, same for molten freddy, glamrock freddy could be the same. Freddy is not the first one who is shown to need power, funtime freddy was also harmless when unpowered, and other than that, glamrock freddy was able to move after he failed to rechard calling it "a second wind". Honestly, in theory I really like the idea of canon books that fill in gaps in the games, like GGY or Help Wanted (emphasis is on "in theory"). And I'm more of a sci-fi/fantasy fan than horror fan, so I don't mind that turn, though I certainly can understand why people who _did_ come to the series for the mystery and horror would feel upset about that. But in practice, there's some... real odd things in there that I don't really want in game continuity... Still, I was very anti-Gregory-as-46 but now that it's happening I'm fine giving it a shot, so I'll wait to see what the actual resolution is for now (truly same continuity? Frights as in-world novels but with some real events Tales will build on? etc).

I always only thought about the paranormal aspect of Five Nights at Freddy’s games and didn’t look at the sci-fi aspect with FEW exceptions. Emphasis on the “few”. My take on the explanation behind killer robots is just ghosts. And ONLY ghosts. Because why turn a paranormal franchise about some murdered children and undead family into a sci-fi “horror”, known by kids, that has presumably advanced AI as the reoccurring detail and giving the audience so much detail on even the most unnecessary and scattershot THING? You see how confusing and outright *MIND-FUCKING* this franchise’s lore has become, Scott?! If *I* were to make an indie horror game akin to FNAF, I’d make the lore as simple as the first game alone. No, I’m DEAD serious.

No. You can play SB knowing just the general lore of Help Wanted’s lore and still understand it. I don’t know why everyone acts as if you have to become Game Theory and dedicate like all of your time to solving the lore just to understand the games, that’s just wrong. You only have to do that if you want to understand every tiny little inch of the story, but you can actually understand the newer games much better and easier than the older ones now because there’s more stuff explained to you rather than almost nothing being explained to you in the older games and YOU having to actually theorise to understand just the basic premise.

The novel trilogy _is_ written by Scott, and has parts which are intended to be used as hints towards things not shown in the games - or, at least, The Silver Eyes was, since the followups were unplanned at first. Scott is very likely what we in the writing circles call a "pantser", meaning he writes a story largely from the seat of his pants rather than having everything planned out start to finish. Singular highly-detailed decade-long stories aren't a pantser's specialty. Pantsers specialize in shorter stories, stand-alones, and formulaic stories. So the longer a pantser's single longform story goes on, the more holes start to appear. Thus, something like this happening is, unfortunately, par for the course and even expected...it'd certainly be nice to see Scott break off into something else, I think he'd do well if he were to craft something new that had no pressure or expectations to its name.

Wow, good analysis! Is there any term for a person who largely writes blocks of story at a time, and usually changes his mind/approach with each new block? Because I think that one is a tad more accurate to Scott right now. He said he had SL already envisioned when he was working on Fnaf 2 (although it seemed he never planned on making it at first), and he's talked about his big changes in approaches whenever he "extends" the franchise before. I feel like Scott is more of a "revisionist" (or at least, has been up until this point) I was wondering what was the term for that kind of storytelller, since some of my favorite franchise's have been written by proud "pantsers" (... and showed a lot of holes in them down the line lol

I feel as if that was the original goal for the books, seeing as FF was described as 'different stories from throughout the FNaF universe' or something like that. Tbh I really don't like the books because they're ground 0 for all the absurd bs that has seeped into FNaF

@@bonafidebruhmoment5440 Yeah, I'm glad more people are recognizing that now. Feels good to know that I'm not the only one who hates this new garbage that doesn't even come close to aligning with what came before, feeling more like a distorted mishmash of ideas branded to the FNaF IP because it's too late for Scott to fully get away.

Bro,in my opinion the tales from the pizzaplex books explain what is missing in security breach it confirmed a lot of things, besides they are Better than fazbear frights stories The books are not bad at All,Also yes in the books like tales and frights strange things hapend, more strange than the actuall games Also, the tales from the pizzaplex make security breach way more darker

I tried explaining this series to my friend who is interested in the lore because she wants to see the movie on account of the special effects being done by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, and I was like: "Okay, but I need to tell you, I HAVE to explain each segment of each game and each story throughly because everything changes whenever a new element is added. There's the story for the first game, the story for the first and the sequel, the story for the trilogy, the story for the quadrilogy, the story for the tightly linked spin offs, the story for the overarching narrative we get introduced in the sixth game, the hidden story of the send off, the hidden story of the soft roboot, the story of the mobile app that bleeds into the latest game, the story of everything now that it was all linked, the story of everyone once Purple Guy became William Afton and kept coming back, the story of how Purple Guy wasn't just an employee, the story when it was just about a nightmare a child was having, the story of how Fazbear Entertainment is actually the worst company ever, the story of freaking Henry, the story of the novel trilogy, the story of the novelas, the story of the next generation of the novelas... And then I need to tell you to disregard all that because none of that actually matters because the games canonically are just urban legends, but actually, they really did happen in-universe and it's all a corporate cover-up, and it's basically simplified as the rotten bunny man is bad and the robots are mostly actually not the bad guys intentionally."
