I think this is the most impressive feat she pulls. It's very easy to notice that some errors are beautiful errors, but the most difficult about them is that there are no techniques for errors, so they are very hard to control; it's very hard to do what she does here: to fit an error right where it belongs. Pure art. Unteachable. You can only teach people how to avoid mistakes, whereas people can only make art if make the right mistakes.

@@dnice033 Yes. It is called an Intentional Voice Break. It can also be referred to as a crack, cry or squeak. A good amount of singers have used voice breaks before such as Demi Lovato, Rihanna (commonly uses it), etc, but Sia is the first that comes to mind.

They were told not to make noise. Because, if they make any sudden noise, it would mess up the sound. They only needed to hear her voice and music, not feet moving on the floor or clapping. Plus its in Piano Version, not the original. So it need to have a quiet background with the voice and the music.

J'ai pas trop de recul pour la juger car je connais que la version studio de Chandelier, mais en live c'est peut être la seule artiste qui, malgré quelques variations dans le chant, arrivent à faire au moins aussi bien que sur l'album pour une chanson en live, c'est un exploit, chapeau à elle. A part elle ya peut être que Muse et certains rappeurs US qui font mieux en live que dans la version studio, c'est une preuve de talent

+KerSalt U Sia est incroyable en live mais il y a heureusement d'autres artistes qui le sont aussi. Je pense notamment à Tori Kelly, Jessie J, Beyonce, Adèle, Hayley Williams (de Paramore), Jared Leto, Bruno Mars et j'en passe pas mal d'autres :)

Sia has a very unique raspy type voice that no-one can really cover it....her songs belong to her......and my admiration for her is outstanding cuz she suffered BI polar disorder. Depression, addiction and she emerged beautifully......

We who survive living with it often come out stronger, and a lot of us bipolar people are extra creative and stuff. I've got a rather extensive musical training, but I'll never ever be able to cover Sia. She's too perfect and unique, every cover would be more of an insult hahah. 저도 궁금해서 들어본 1인ㅎㅎ 근데 들어보니 두분이 확실히 다르긴 하네요 박정현님 노래 들었을 땐 '와~진짜 잘부른다' 였는데 원곡자 노래를 듣고 나서는 뭔가 가슴이 뭉클해지고 찡하면서 아픔이 전해져 옵니다 가사 내용이 궁금해서 찾아봤더니 역시나 마음이 아프고 괴로움을 표현한 곡이네요

This version is even better than the official release which has additional layers of vocal under Sia's lead. And it is all the better for not having them, the strength of the vocal performance and the lyrical content are simply superb, and require no further embellishment. Outstanding.
