My mom died when I was five. My dad started doing drugs. And drinking... He lost his job, our house, everything. When I turned 7 he started abusing me. He'd come home drunk, or high, and he'd start beating me with a baseball bat, throw me down the stairs, hit me, punch me, burn my skin... I started cutting myself when I was 10. My brother killed himself when he found out what my dad was doing to me. I stopped eating. The cutting got worse.. People at school would make fun of me everyday. I've tried killing myself 3 times now. The part where Maddie falls back onto the bed as if she's jumping made me burst into tears because I really know what it's like. I don't want your sympathy or pity, I'm tired of seeing people getting bullied online for just trying to prove a point and then they get accused of being attention seekers

+lidia ordoñez in an interview she said she was hiding her face because she had been on drugs for years and she almost killed herself...after this she decided to not become famous anymore and she started to write songs for other artists ... a lot of songs were rejected by popular singers and so she eventually decided to sing her personal songs by herself trying to not reach the top of the world (thing that didn't happen) . She revealed this secret in an interview but I don't remember exactly which one....

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. Anyone who listens to even a quarter of the lyrics would understand that the nude bodysuit is supposed to express the vulnerability and beauty of human spirit. Yes, she's supposed to look exposed, but not in some sick, sexual way. She's baring her soul in a way that is made more profound by her youth and its image of innocence/loss of it but refusing to let go. This isn't gonna work with a red bodysuit, or a purple one. I'm sad I had to write this, I guess my standard for peoples' intelligence was too high.

The song was sadly beautiful But a child singing these lyrics is absolutely disturbing! In the 'Chandelier' video Maddie is in a lodging much more disproportionate than the place that she'd stayed in, in Indonesia, where she had been eleven years young. This song is so impacting and powerful it's unreal! I have been suffering from depression lately and this song has made me realize that good things happen to good people.
