(feat. The Weeknd & Diplo) And another one bites the dust Oh why can I not conquer love? And I might have thought that we were one Wanted to fight this war without weapons And I wanted it, I wanted it bad But there were so many red flags Now another one bites the dust Yeah, let's be clear, I'll trust no one You did not break me I'm still fighting for peace Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart, But your blade - it might be too sharp I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard, Yeah, I may snap and I move fast But you won't see me fall apart 'Cause I've got an elastic heart I've got an elastic heart Yeah, I've got an elastic heart And I will stay up through the night And let's be clear, won't close my eyes And I know that I can survive I'll walk through fire to save my life And I want it, I want my life so bad I'm doing everything I can Then another one bites the dust It's hard to lose a chosen one You did not break me (You did not break me, no) I'm still fighting for peace Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart, But your blade - it might be too sharp I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard, Yeah, I may snap and I move fast But you won't see me fall apart 'Cause I've got an elastic heart Oh oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh Oh oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh [x2:] Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart, But your blade - it might be too sharp I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard, Yeah, I may snap and I move fast But you won't see me fall apart 'Cause I've got an elastic heart I've got an elastic heart

Bruno Cavalcante If you're referring to the plain beatbox and vocal, I admit that I was fascinated by that at the first verse. However, the effect weakens and eventually becomes boring throughout the cover. If some instruments had been used to emphasize the chorus/add more emotional components, the song flow would have been better. But it's just my opinion of course:)
@bcchagas
@bcchagas 9 жыл бұрын
Brian Lo I see your point. I suppose the song could be improved despite the fact the experience it conveys the way it is now is already fantastic. I would appreciate another version, as long as this one would be still available :)

I think a loop station could've done really good in this situation. I personally think the beatboxing is fine, it just makes this really simple. The use of instruments could've been good but I personally think this video is perfect and fine exactly like this, I mean, it is a cover.

Did anyone else I think that it sounded like Daniela's voice was pitch bent a little bit, in an unflattering way? By that, I mean the editing process that can warp vocals just enough and produce almost a chipmunk-y sound? Now, I *was* listening to this on my phone, without headphones, so we all know that drastically reduces sound quality, so there may have been absolutely nothing wrong with it. But I know Daniela's voice usually sounds full and more rich (never nasal or tight), even when she's singing in such a high key. So I was just wondering if it was just me / my phone. It took me aback at first.

Aarón Soto Thanks for your feedback guys. I just got back to my computer and re-listened. It's definitely significantlyyy better than what I first heard. It was mostly to the fault of my phone and the environment it was flowing through. But there's still a minor touch of that here. Which, certainly could be explained by many possible reasons. Regardless. They were both phenomenal. Completely.
@rawstarmusic
@rawstarmusic 9 жыл бұрын
OurPeanutGallerie If it was I didn't hear it if you mean actual pitch bending. She is using another mic now and the kitchen sure isn't the place for that cause it picks up everything reflecting back from a distance (I owned one myself) So this is a lot of the kitchen we hear. She is more distant from the mic also so the kitchen is a large part of the sound we hear. She could team up with this guy and the keyboard guy to see what comes out.
@Kaalyn_HOW
@Kaalyn_HOW 9 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you again. As I came back and re-listened, it seemed evident the majority of what I heard was my phone's fault. And seeing that a good handful of people agreed, I'm wondering if maybe YT actually had a little glitch for a moment and was warping audio quality a bit on mobile devices. My phone is usually great with sound, and what I first heard was borderline startling. You know how sometimes the very first comments on a video might all be about about the audio and video being mismatched -- but by the time you got there, it was fixed and nothing was wrong so the comments make no sense to you?? I'm wondering if there was an audio flaw for a bit on YT's behalf that was bending it. It sounds MUCH better on my computer and any discrepancies are what I would imagine to be because of the room acoustics. But, to me, it's not unflattering here. What I first heard, however, was unmistakably odd. Thanks again though for your feedback.
@rawstarmusic
@rawstarmusic 9 жыл бұрын
OurPeanutGallerie KZfaq can sometimes have playback glitches or the device playing in back might momentary be overstretched or lack memory. Of course a recording can be edited when there are several people and microphones involved to match timing for example and leakage between mic's but I don't know that. If there is any small issue it's often better to edit instead of redo the whole recording. Personally I didn't hear anything myself.

This girl is great and I love her other stuff but this song is not for her. Really like how the beatboxer (KRNFX) mixes it up. I hear so many beatboxers do the same thing the whole song. He manages to balance consistency and innovation throughout the song. I love where he took it around the 2:15 mark. Daniela I'm a fan and love your other work but Sia sings this like no one else can. Although I think I understand what you're trying to say by saying it looks like a "bugger retainer", I don't think that term exists/is not commonly used. Also, my comment was just an observation, not me tapping into any kind of religious debate :) *****

For those who want to follow along: I will not give up, no. I will not give up And another one bites the dust Oh why can I not conquer love? And I might have thought that we were one Wanted to fight this war without weapons And I wanted it, I wanted it bad But there were so many red flags Now another one bites the dust Yeah, let's be clear, I'll trust no one You did not break me I'm still fighting for peace Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart, But your blade-it might be too sharp I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard, Yeah, I may snap and I move fast But you won't see me fall apart 'Cause I've got an elastic heart I've got an elastic heart Yeah, I've got an elastic heart And I will stay up through the night And let's be clear, won't close my eyes And I know that I can survive I'll walk through fire to save my life And I want it, I want my life so bad I'm doing everything I can Then another one bites the dust It's hard to lose a chosen one You did not break me (You did not break me, no) I'm still fighting for peace Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart, But your blade-it might be too sharp I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard, Yeah, I may snap and I move fast But you won't see me fall apart 'Cause I've got an elastic heart

She never hits the higher notes when the original song reaches an octave up. Amazing cover but not hitting the higher notes when she's supposed to highlights a lack of vocal range.

Because you can do better, correct? Not every cover needs to be a copy of the original.

Maria La'voe What does this have to do with my abilities? And I never said that every cover has to be a copy of the original. I just said that had she hit the higher notes, it would've highlighted her vocal range, but by not doing so, it emphasizes a lack thereof.
@chunhei8967
@chunhei8967 8 жыл бұрын
Just because somebody doesn't hit certain highnotes, doesn't mean a lack of vocal range sone choose to either use it or not. Granted some cannot achieve highnotes which is fine work with what you have but that doesn't mean you need to comment on it when I am sure she already knows what she can and cannot do. Most people are aware. By saying shes "supposed" to kinda makes you look like a jackass. Maybe she didn't want to sing it as the original like others tend to. Even if she cannot reach high notes doesn't mean a lack of anything on her part, some people simply cannot reach higher notes but still sing beautiful. Her voice is different, different is good.
@xxxjayxxx643

That's why it's called a cover not a replica. She doesn't have Sia's voice she has her own so she doesn't have to hit the same notes. That would be pretty annoying if people made covers to songs and always sounded like the original singer. We need some diversity in this world everyone seems to focus on what everyone else is doing smh
