This is a very short movie showing a transom upgrade for a 6hp 4 stroke outboard on a SIB. (Soft Inflatable Boat). The boat was bought from BCF in Australia in 2020 and had a low transom.
Four stroke outboards have a 17” shaft and some inflatable boats only have a 15” transom. The anti-cavitation plate should be just below the bottom of the boat. This upgrade ensures the outboard is still safe in the event you hit a sand bank or rock, yet can be removed when folding your boat away. Parts were from Bunnings and Road Tech Marine.
