I believe Jennie went to school in New Zealand for some time, so she does have a slight accent when speaking english.

Jennie actually studied in New Zealand for 5 years, I noticed when she was younger she had more of a kiwis accent but I think she's the type that will take other accents on like now she has more of an American accent but some words she says sounds pretty kiwis of aussie like

Jennie's accent is New Zealand English, while Rosé, who was born in New Zealand, moved to Australia at a young age and picked up an Australian dialect. (water=wataa)

7:52 i agree it has a huge impact on the success of the group... and that's why i think mamamoo, for example, is not that big in the western world. i think their style, their multiple concepts, talent, confidence and empowerment would completely amaze westerners, however none of the members speaks english. it doesnt make them better or worse, but it'd definitely multiply their opportunities here

There are multiple kpop groups with more members that speak English. Especially in the younger generations of kpop. Blackpink is indeed lucky to be one of the groups that has the majority of the members being able to have full conversations in English.

I love they speaking in English. Also Jisoo is improving her English more and more and she said Jennie is her teacher. She can understand very well but have no confidence to talk in English but yesterday for exemplo she was talking in English with a blink for videocall so she is really improving it

blackpink really does have the western market down already, imagine how much bigger they’ll be if they actually promote in the west and as you mentioned especially speaking english has that extra cherry on top!!! the world is gonna be “blackpink is the revolution” in no time! jisoo does understand everything and she’s been learning from the girls to speak english hehe she’s so cute she’s always improving 🥺💖 BTW i’m sure you guys saw the teaser poster for the new blackpink song and we all think that it’ll be ariana grande or g dragon!! ariana, her producer tommy, victoria monet her bff have all liked posts about the new single coming august!!! imagine how much power that’ll hold 😭

ITZY actually has basically all the members speaking English. They’re really good and I think it helps that Lia (since she’s Canadian) speaks fluently so she probably helps them out and teaches them more about the language.

actually about the english aspect there is groups who don't have foreign members or have like Japanese or Chinese members and they don't speak english but they always try their best to learn english I honestly think thats every group, or maybe like twice they do have 4 foreign members (Sana, Momo,Mina, and Tzuyu) 3 are Japanese(Momo(Main dancer sup-rapper vocalist, born in Japan),Sana(vocalist, Visual,born in Japan), and Mina(Main dancer, Vocalist,was born in L.A Texas but lest when she was 5 months i think) and one Taiwanese(Tzuyu (maknae, visual, lead dancer, born in Taiwan) so basically they only chance they have is Mina so , but the members are getting better at english!! The members of stray kids are speaking really good English too and Felix and bang chan come from Australia I think:) so blackpink is maybe the only kpop girl group but not the only kpop group🙈

I'm pretty sure Blackpink aren't the only group where the majority speak English. But then again the only group i can think of right now is got7 and maybe skz. Btw, I think you're mixing up Mark from NCT and Mark from Got7. Both of them are fluent English speakers because they were both born and grew up in the West. But, Mark from NCT is korean-canadian and Mark from got7 is american-taiwanese.
