I think the “cliffhanger” scene was moreso a doctor at the hospital knocking to see if it was okay to go in. But because of her trauma from “is Tamara home” girl & the others, it made her jump & question if her she was safe or still not safe yet

I like to interpret the ending as just showing how traumatized they will be for the rest of their lives lol. The knock on the hospital room door could be a nurse or doctor but for the rest of their lives they’ll associate a knock on the door with trauma

Sis made an excellent nuanced point: had I witnessed my mother’s murder my rage response would have taken over and I’d be on a revenge kick for retribution. However, finding a body changes the dynamic - no context, just shock and the immediacy of the loss takes over the brain, paralyzing you. I appreciate that take.

Despite it taking a while to get there, this feels like a course correction for anyone who thought the previous movie's characters were too passive. It's rare to see a brother and sister team who end up the survivors; it's so satisfying seeing them fight back.

I think the first movie and the first half of this one is what makes it so satisfying. We spent a movie and a half watching these three nameless monsters terrorize and murder innocent people for literally no reason other than just because. So seeing them finally brought down as nothing more than humans was satisfying as fuck.

My headcanon is that Kinsey and Luke both survive and the knocking at the door in the end was just the nurse and Kinsey was being paranoid due to her trauma, which doesn't really make it a better situation for her but at least they survive!

The cinematography as well!! It's simply gorgeous! For such a dark movie (like, physically dark) to be so beautifully and purposefully lit in the late 2010s is AMAZING. Why people just accepted that if you're watching a dark scene during the day you shouldn't be able to see anything I have no idea! That and the more artistic camera movements truly remind me of mid to late 70s slashers than 80s (despite the iconic soundtrack). In the same way, the filmmakers recognized when you need the catharsis of the kills of the murderers in order to pace yourself through the rest of the movie and to have the audience truly align themselves with the characters (in terms of realism and believability). And they are characters, they're not just undeveloped teenage fodder that you don't really care about (like in the Friday the 13th series, for example). They choreographed this movie to the letter and I truly appreciate it for what it is.

I know that every movie that's "based on true events" takes liberties to make the story more dramatic and entertaining, but any time a horror movie claims to be based on a true story or true events, I assume the true part of the story is: "Some people died one time."

While I still prefer the first movie I absolutely love this one, I like how it's different from the first, which was a lot more contained and claustrophobic, it had more of a suffocating atmosphere, whereas this one feels bigger and more desperate with how fast-paced it is, it maintains elements of the first one, something I appreciate a lot, but it doesn't repeat the same style, and that makes sense given it's been 10 years since the first one and these are different victims, they respond differently, and the area requires different behaviors. Also Kinsey was amazing as a final girl, once her and Luke got time to breathe they let loose and fought, mistakes were made but that's how it goes in situations like that, it's hard to be perfect, and Kinsey went all out with as much as strength as she could muster and I love her for it. And Madison was incredible with her acting, that moment of her smiling when she's about to burn sack guy made me wish she'd play a killer in a slasher, I love her as a survivor like here and Pretty Little Liars but I need her to be the one chasing next time. Anyway, I've been binge-watching your channel and I noticed you really like Kevin Williamson's films so I have a classic one for you: Teaching Mrs. Tingle. He wrote and directed it, and the cast is *everything*, with Katie Holmes and THE Helen Mirren as lead roles. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid and it remains as iconic as I remember it, granted it carries a lot of nostalgia for me so you'd have to see it for yourself lol It's not really a horror like a lot of his movies, it's more of a thriller comedy, feels a little bit campy if I'm being honest and that makes me love it even more now as an adult.

@@potts9274 Lol it doesn't though...wtf What does happen very early into the movie though is the mother using her cell phone. Cell phones are so prevalent in the first half of the movie, it's hilarious that you said they don't have them. An entire plot point is how the strangers gather all four of their cell phones and smash them up. And Kinsey still even tries to make a call on one after that. The father literally has a line about how plugged in the kids are and at one point asks Luke where his phone is.

@@ScorpionStrike7 that’s what I was thinking a lot of potential and the cast for this trilogy is actually pretty decent in size so I bet we’re gonna be seeing more kills than usual with this third installment or at least down the road in the trilogy

I fully went into this movie expecting it to be a let down, because how can u top the brutality and suspense of the first one? but it's such a different kind of movie in the best possible way.

My little sister and I used to watch this movie SOOOO MUCH.....idk the big bro little sis combo trying to fight for life really connected wit us....have only rewatched the original a handful of times but THIS ONE was a constant...them siblings put up a real fight.....they were no John Wicks but for teens who both witnessed their parents murdered and fighting 3 grown people I always felt they did good.

I feel like the ending isn’t the killer coming back it’s the trauma they both endured and got as a result of everything (or also a nightmare) but my girl DID THAT AND SO DID MY BOY! Love em sm

The ending is just a nurse knocking on the door to check on them, they both lived.

Betty boop doll face death scene was very satisfying because she was the first I’m not gonna lie 😂😂 then the other 2 killers getting a taste if there own medicine really puts me in a chokehold because it’s like wow someone finally did it but not just anyone a freaking minor 😂😂😫 but good reaction this one definitely ate 😊❤
