In 17:00 just really solved the animal meat and European ancestry connection. I kept telling people that Europeans are more in need of meet then melanated people. I've been saying that for a long time. So what this lady says is proof that they need meat because of that chemical that's highly concentrated in red meat. Now as for myself being an african-american, most people of African descent cannot handle too much meat.

Maybe I’m just ignorant but that seems backwards to me. I would have imagined those of African descent would need more meat because I would have thought your ancestors ate more meat due to warmer climates vs Europeans in cold climates where meat might have been harder to have year round. I’d love to learn the reason it could the other way around though.

@@Piecesoftheshadow I would say melanated people don’t operate as prevalently on the “evolutionary-adaptation principle” with regards to diet than those who are largely considered ‘non-melanated’(less melanated, really). It gets interesting because albinism is a mutation pertaining to almost no melanin and it was always and still is rare. The theory is roughly that the modern prevalence of “white” people is some kind of intervention of human existence that transpired some thousand or so years ago. Genetic experimentation as opposed to natural, ancient indigenous presence on the planet from time immemorial.

Listen to this closely. It's the truth so help me God. I had SIBO ( among other things) with the main issue being EBV. Long story short, I couldn't eat anything, was dropping weight like I had cancer (but didn't) . I was getting oral thrush just loaded up on my tongue (I'm a guy). Everything I ate turned to fungus and affected me in an awful way. I was exhausted all the time. I lost 30 pounds in 30 days. Nothing I had done previously was working anymore (B12 injections, just gobs and loads of probiotics, fistfuls, iodine drops, cats claw, vit d, fistfuls, etc.) It was a beautiful summer day 2 years ago, and couldn't get off the couch. I was dying from an immune issue and the doctors couldn't help me anymore. I was giving up hope. I prayed on it a lot but was resigned to death if God chose not to help me because I trust Him completely. I forced myself up onto the couch, decided to go out and mow the lawn though I could barely move. Thyroid problems for years with thyroid supplement prescription. As I walked out my back door into the gorgeous sunshine, I was crying. I was going to mow that damn lawn no matter what. Then, a voice came into my head. It said not necessarily verbatim, "go and get a high dose vitamin C IV." Where that voice came from, I know now, of course. But at the time I was a bit stunned. So, I went inside and thankfully found a non prescription hydration clinic on the internet.. Walked in, asked for a high dose vitamin C infusion (15 grams). I had already been tested for high dose and was good to go. Before, I had only tried 5 gram IVs. The nurse there took my blood pressure, 90/30. I was shocked. She asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital. I said no way. Been there, done that. I'm listening to the inner voice and the command I was given. Got the IV. I immediately felt better. Went in again in 2 days, received a 30 gram vit C IV. And again in 3 days. I found a naturopath to do the IV for a much better price, but 50 grams at a time. Wonderful doc. I then proceeded for the next 6 months, a vit c IV once a week. I now only need to get one once a month. The oral thrush began to recede almost immediately after the first IV but I kept them up. I now no longer have SIBO or most of all the other immune problems I was having, all because of the surprise, unknown voice in my head. Please take this information and do what you will with it. May you all live happy, healthy, joyous lives.

It would be beneficial to remind people that one of the highest reasons for sibo is from the use of antibiotics. If you have been on antibiotics for a week or longer, or if you have had to go on multiple rounds of antibiotics fairly close together in a 1-3 year period, it completely shifts your microbiome and allows for "bad" bacteria to grow and move into locations it shouldn't be. There is a HIGH number of people who end up with sibo after any form of hospitalization.

@@BeachBum77 literally the only thing that helps me w all my mutations is avoidance of certain things . Wheat and dairy elimination is crucial for me . Reducing my toxic burden by avoiding stress in all forms is all I can do . I really benefit from clean air , lots of salads and organic foods without preservatives and chemicals . I started drinking pomegranate juice every day an it seems to really be helping reduce viral infections which I get a lot of . Also snorting colloidal silver spray has eliminated my sinus infections completely so these two things really I can say are easy and cheap and highly effective so it’s worth just trying . People w CBS are prone to a lot of bacterial and vital infections so try this if you have CBS. It’s the simplest things that seem to help me the most . Also for SIBO just take a probiotic every day . I just started taking those good belly shots ( the vanilla chamomile only bc they don’t have added cheap synthetic b12 and B6) and it’s helped me not have diarrhea or a yeast infection from the antibiotics I had to take recently for a UTI . I usually take histamine friendly probiotics like prescript assist but I gave these a try after a pharmacist recommended taking them WITH the antibiotics to reduce stomach pain from the antibiotic itself and it worked . I was shocked . And not getting a yeast infection and I’m nearly done w the 7 days of abx is really amazing .

Hello out there! Omg Omg Omg is all I can say. I've been up all night watching and re watching. THank you BOTH!!! Tremendously from the bottom of my heart. I was so tired. My son has autism, and possible SIBO still not sure. Last night has was up all night for the third night in a row totally wired!. Thank you for touching on that issue as it was SULFUR ( all his favorite foods are high in this). That night he ate a huge bowl of strawberry and turkey sandwich. That explains the itching all over and YEAR round Allergies for the past 6 years smh. We've taken so many antibiotics nothing worked. I kept wondering why he has cough, sneeze, short breaths and acid reflux???. He also has very bad stiffness in joints, hair extremely curly tight to scalp, and 4 toes that wont relax and tongue speech issues. Last year had trouble swallowing didn't know why. Which goes back to Molybdenum like you stated in a very amazing way! Third the brain fog was getting worse and ringing in ears smh I hate when hey say its all Autism. You explained why so clearly. Its hard to get testing done so the doctor had him on medicine to lower acid. We stopped day 2. They detect SIBO, Now we were going to try Rifaximin. I'll do like you say and remove the foods for now but he loves meat. How can i get rid of the bacteria thats in the way so he can still enjoy protein and strawberries.? CAnt swallow big pills by the way

This 30 min video changes my life. Dr Bridget said a lot in this 30 minute video. You have done a great public service here. Especially the points around Moly and Mn. After 2 year of bio-hacking, finally figured out that i had sulphur intolerance and SIBO, but was struggling on treatment protocol. Moly/ Mn is making a huge huge difference. Do you think you could do another video, addressing the following question based on your clinical experience 1. Do you see a difference in impact from different forms of Mo / Mn : amino acid vs. say the glycinate chelate? 2. Any other supplement / medication that you have seen work ? In my case Rifaximin 550 2-3 times a day with low suplhur diet and milk tea with huge ginger quantity helps. Also Magnesium Oxide also seems to help relieve symptoms a little bit. But no doubt Mo/Mn causes the biggest difference in increasing the tolerance levels as well as symptoms relief. 3. Which other foods have you seen work and not work with sulphur SIBO folks. I know different thing would work for different patient, but keen to know the general trends. You have mentioned carrots, cucumber, celery and blonde lettuce. In terms of diet i can only eat white rice, toor dal (lentil) and peas. Even other lentils cause a reaction to different degree. Another thing in my case : seems chicken causes a reaction, but goat meat (cooked in pressure cooker with little bit of onion and garlic) much less. As an comparison, even if I take a small bite of fried onion /garlic, equivalent to just a top of teaspoon, i am hit with huge reaction. Am still testing it further, but it might be that pressure cooking breaks sulphur bonds as you pointed out. Am testing the impact of pressure cooking further. 3.Any food items that help with symptoms ? e.g i found that high ginger (as ginger team with milk) helps to bring down brain fog etc. Any other such stuff that you have seen in other patients ? 4. Found that Betaine HCL causes a reaction in me, possibly due to sulphur presence. Any other HCL supplement that you have seen work with sulphur SIBO patients. 5. Could you share the low sulphur food list mentioned in the video

I have "sulfur intolerance" as well. I don't believe in SIBO but I think that our colons have very low levels of beneficial bacteria like LactoBacillus and BifidoBacteria. I believe The sulfur reducing bacteria bad guys are out competing our good bacteria and causing excess hydrogen sulfide. The hydrogen sulfide is causing issues outside of the gut like increasing histamine and so on. My only plan at the moment is cutting out sulfur foods while eating foods that will hopefully increase the low bacteria that I need such as Potatoes and sauerkraut. If you really need to eat or take things with sulfur than what works for me is Quercetin(from apples) alone or a combination of lysine, ornithine and citrulline at atleast 500mg each. Those supplements will either act as antioxidants that protect you from symptoms or stop histamine from being released...I'm not sure of how it works but it does. Good luck and hope this helps.

possibly ACV frees up toxins stored in the body and in order to purge the toxins the body creates inflammation. You might want to look into proper hydration, sunshine for vitamin D, more greens for vitamin K, less dense foods, more exercise in any form (walking for 3 hours a day is great or just staying active naturally), early sleep, stress management, avoiding toxins, body nourishment via nutrition.

You say cooking high sulfur foods breaks some of the sulfur bonds and lowers it’s sulfur content, but I’ve heard other SIBO experts and resources say sulfur can’t be decreased or broken down with heat. I don’t tolerate brassicas or alliums (or most high sulfur supps.) at all, though! Can’t eat them at all, no matter how much they’re cooked. I’ve also heard another SIBO expert say high sulfur veg is easier to tolerate for their patients than animal sources, but that hasn’t been my experience for my H2S SIBO with most of the high sulfur fruit/veg. I do quite well on a small can of baked beans with a banana and an apple for high FODMAPS for H2S SIBO, but I’d do even better if the baked beans didn’t have the high sulfur in them and were just high FODMAP, cause I can feel it also noticeably increasing my H2S levels, sadly. Molybdenum doesn’t help me, sadly.

Supplemental Manganese hyper activates the arginase enzyme which uses up all the arginine and converts it into urea and ornithine. And that's not a good idea. This arginine could have been used by the eNos enzyme and converted into nitric oxide which is what we need more of.

I'm also confused about reading online that (too much) Molybdenum can cause kidney issues and that we are rarely deficient in it because many foods but also water (depending on where you live) contain it. In addition, foods like peanuts, lentils, peas and beans contain it and with SIBO these are not suitable foods. Could you please clarify?
@MetagenicsInstitute

The typical dietary intake of molybdenum in the USA by adults is suggested at approximately 100 micrograms per day. What is considered “safe” intake - total dietary and supplemental - is up to 2,000 micrograms/day (from the Food and Nutrition Board and Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, USA). As you note, molybdenum levels in food and water may vary quite considerably by geography (soil molybdenum). While molybdenum deficiency is not reported, insufficiency may be a consideration as estimates of molybdenum dietary intake is limited - as is the molybdenum content of foods (only a small handful of food are reported to contain appreciable molybdenum - however, a varied whole-food diet should provide sufficient RDA/DRI intake). What can be said is that molybdenum is an important (essential) enzyme co-factor in a number of processes, including sulfite oxidase. Supplementation with molybdenum - at well below Tolerable UL - may be an effective means to ensure a base level of intake to support its essential functions. This may be especially true in rotation diets or temporary elimination of specific foods associated to SIBO support.

It's amazing cause I never thought my stomach could handle it, although I still have bloating and gas issues from them. But eating 26oz of raw vegtables is my new daily habit(and makes my body feel better) and I've been eating 6.5 pounds of vegetable soup twice a week for an experiment. The sauerkraut did not help and neither did eating lot of potatoes(hot or cold). A probiotic lactobacillus 299v(im unsure of the spelling right now) Has been helping with upset stomach issues. But beans still cause my sulfur/histamine and upset stomach issues. I do not really have any answers for you cause Im unsure of everything. I dont know if we humans really should be eating such high amounts of meat or sulfur foods. I guess it's something that we have to decide on our own. I mean do we restrict these foods cause their bad for us normally, or do we just have issues that other people dont. And if we retrict these foods do we damage our stomach bacteria by starving them or starve our bodies in some way.

I had a growth on the side of my throat and it seemed to be effecting the right side of my heart and the physicians assistant said to me the she also had that issue they did and ECG and that was it. Doctors should have to pass a compassion test and if they cannot pass shouldn't get a license to practice medicine. They get to bill you for their services even if they do their job or not, which pretty much would be theift in any other occupation. Our health system needs a complete over haul. Thank God for the public library system where I got books to help myself, now if doctors would just stop stealing my organs, blood and body tissues.🧬, Oh yah, I guess there is more than one way of passing medical information on a patient then blatant malicious disclosure.

Meat fish eggs and dairy are the easiest foods to digest and most gentle on the gut. Whereas plant matter is difficult to digest due to fiber and cellulose (plant sugar). Meat is good for building the body. Plants are for cleansing. Also look into the Weston A Price Foundation also and their Nourishing Traditions cookbook.

This is excellent! Thank you! I have a question about processing glutathione. I have MTHFR and the CBS mutation. My Dr recommended glutathione but I questioned bc it’s a sulfur compound. I know glutathione is comprised of cystine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Those ingredients are listed separately in most collagen powders under the amino acid profile. Do the 3 of them together = glutamine / sulfur compound …meaning those with CBS should not use collagen powder? Thanks so much for providing clarity to this!
@MetagenicsInstitute
@MetagenicsInstitute Жыл бұрын
There are quite a few (many) different MTHFR & CBS mutations, and each may carry differing symptoms, tolerances, and needs. For example, while a low sulfur diet may be common across various CBS mutations, tolerance to specific sulfur-containing amino acids (such as found in animal meats) may vary substantially. Regarding preformed glutathione, for some with these mutations, glutathione being composed of the amino acids cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid, may be very appropriate while for others not well-tolerated orally. In general, the main amino acids of collagen powders are not those sulfur-containing. Recall, too, that genetic SNiPs are not like on-off switches but more akin to dimmer switches - all would still methylate, internally manufacture glutathione, and/or process homocysteine, but some more slowly than others. With such a complex question, we urge you to have a deeper discussion with the practitioner recommending any dietary supplementation to you - including glutathione - to assure those recommendations are applicable to your specific, unique, needs.

There may be a reason why reports are contradictory. From the literature, “Available reference sources do not reflect a homogeneous consensus, and the variation between foods [seasonally, regionally] makes it impossible for dieticians to accurately estimate [content of bioactive amines from food such as histamine] to correctly advise patients." Allergol Immunopathol (Madr). 2016 Sep-Oct;44(5):475-83. Histamine intolerance and dietary management: A complete review. San Mauro Martin et al. As a general suggestion, histamine in higher amounts may be found in fermented foods such as aged cheeses, sauerkraut, wine, some legumes, and/or in spoiled food (as a result of microbial fermentation). In addition, some foods are felt to contribute to a histamine reaction and may include citrus and tomatoes as example (not to mention alcoholic beverages). What may be found is that an individual food approach - keeping a detailed food diary and incorporating a food-rotation program - may be the most influential method of determining the impact of food on oneself. This would take into account individual biochemistry as well as regional associated to food sourcing (soil, local food varieties). Perhaps the question to histamine tolerance and its association to SIBO may be more than / in addition to specific foods. Please do consider these three posts from Metagenics Institute - 7 Underlying Causes of SIBO That You Might Be Missing: www.metagenicsinstitute.com/blogs/7-underlying-causes-sibo-might-missing/ The SIBO Dilemma: How the Optimistic “Magic Bullet” Falls Short for Most Patients: www.metagenicsinstitute.com/blogs/the-sibo-dilemma-how-the-optimistic-magic-bullet-falls-short-for-most-patients/ and Evidence Indicates Probiotics May Help Manage SIBO:www.metagenicsinstitute.com/articles/evidence-indicates-probiotics-may-help-manage-sibo/

Everybody talks about low stomach acid but everytime I take betaine HCL my throat burns. Im only taking 2 pills that the bottle says is a serving size. Do maybe some people just not need HCL??

Some people struggle at times to ensure the pull goes ALL the way down when they swallow it. Mucus or tension what-have-you, the pill hangs out in the throat after they “swallow” it and once the cap breaks its hcl acid exposed to those tissues. Practice ensuring that you can track or recognize the capsule or w/e going all the way down into your belly. Also look into mastic gum products. There’s a Korean-based standardized product that is liquid in a strip pouch and drank before eating and taking HCl to prevent all the “burns” from occurring on your skin. The gum coats the tissues and can handle the acid without letting it touch and thus affect your tissues.

@@X-Sannin117Thanks...I dont have a problem swallowing pills. What I figured out was If I only take betaine with meat I dont get any burning. Dont think I need it with every meal.

Yes. Please look into the GAPS DIET by Natasha CAMPBELL-MCBRIDE. Basically the protein in meat rebuilds and heals leaky gut.

Why sulfate sibo patients can’t take Mo- zyme forte to help them with the transfer from sulfites to sulfates?
@TheBestWeddingMusic
@TheBestWeddingMusic 2 жыл бұрын
When she says molybdenum is she referring to NAC (that has compounds of molybdenum and selenium). I am asking this question because sulfate sibo patients can’t have NAC as it causes growth of bacteria and further extreme sensitivity to Sulfur and foods. So what is this Suggesting NAC for Sulfate sibo?
