He doesn't think his life is in danger. And the option to become a sicario is not a lifeline and its not forced on him by alejandro. He was only in the situation of being able to shoot alejandro because he wanted to be a sicario. And that also was why he didn't kill alejandro, respect for him and his profession. Alejandro doesn't have any interest to force the boy to be something he doesn't want to be. Which is why at the end he begins explaining what it really means to be a sicario, to maybe talk him out of it or just to correct any misunderstanding about the work. Despite what you might think it's not a scary scene despite the music, it's just heavy with meaning and duty and fate.

You can see on Matt's face that he deeply regrets the way the op went. He was very close to Alejandro and tried to make things right by saving Isabel. I do not think Matt is second guessing his decision to save Isabel. He might be disappointed that his team was unable to achieve the objective and definitely disappointed about Alejandro. The repercussions will be minimal if any because Matt has a history of delivering the dirty work that the US government needs. Putting Isabel in witsec won't be a big deal. Could Matt be replaying what went wrong in his head? Was the Mexican official they met in the mall who coordinated the Mexican police federal escort in on it? He also assisted them in the first movie by giving the location of the tunnel. I think the US officials will come around and see this as the cause of the failure. I think that Matt's decision to save Isabel will bring him back to Alejandro in the end.
@aemf688324 Жыл бұрын
I think there's more to it...Matt is not an idiot, he knew Alejandro was an exceptional warrior that always survives... That's why He called him and told him what was going on, after he observe the execution of Alejandro even so? he was not sure about him dead, it was too easy. So as a safety card He save the girl and took her into witness protection, Because He saw everything went down to hell after that. Soldier survival instinct.

He may have respected him and his skills as a capable Sicario, but I dont think he liked him that much tbh.
@Gunzbaldwin4 жыл бұрын
@@Luemm3l im going to have to disagree with you on this. It was primarily a business relationship but undernieth that lied a deeper friendship. They may have acted a certain way during the bullshit but when it all comes down to it Matt does have a deep friendship and respect for Alejandro. He went out of his way with his team to wipe those guys out who killed him and then took the girl which he was ordered not to do. He put himself on the line out of respect. The scene in the chopper when the little girl looks at Matt blank faced and then it shows Matt its a perfect example of a metaphor of how Matt actually feels that Alejandro is dead. Right before he truns his head to the left you can see the distain and pain in his eyes as they well up. He has love for him, they did a great job at keeping it very lowkey with only subtle hints of their true friendship. He thinks hes dead, has no idea thats hes alive.
