In the early 1900’s, when my grandmother was just a child, her and her family moved to the United States leaving the oldest daughter who was already married and starting a family behind. The two sisters never saw each other again. Luckily all the descendants from these two women have kept in touch. We brought our kids and my sister’s son to meet the great great grandchildren of my grandmother’s sister. The family ties are strong and we shared smiles and plenty of food. Sicilian hospitality is unmatched.
