Hi everyone! this week we're cooking one of my favorite recipes, Sicilian Steak. This is a recipe my family has been making for years and I love cooking it for my kids! This is such a quick and easy recipe that whoever you make it for will love. You can use whatever kind of steak you prefer. I can't wait to hear how yours came out! Shell steaks
Extra virgin olive oil
Garlic cloves
Dried bread crumbs
Freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
Dried oregano
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper

My Sicilian parents always made it that way. The only difference was we added a a lemon/ olive oil/oregano dressing on top. Love it!

We made this tonight, and my husband absolutely loved this meal. We didn't use the broiler but we used the ninja grill instead and it came out perfectly! Thank you Teresa.❤❤❤❤

AWW WOW Teresa thank you for doing this, i have been suffyring from depression and heartbreak over the last year or so, the normal me would always be happy and one of the things that i loved in life was cooking, it was always the joy of the my day, and my mom taught me, and i a person who loves to cook just knows the joy it brings to yourself, from the going to the grocery store, picking the exact cut of steak or fish or whatever to getting your fresh garlic, cilantro or whatever ingredients to putting it together and taking the time to prepping , and actually cooking, to me its a sign of happiness and good health, and when i experienced heartbreak, depression, it all went away, i had no will in me to do any of it, and the sad part is that it would bring me happiness, and i knew that because i had no desire i lost myself and what i loved to do, and i randomly watched this , and in your own little way it helped me, it helped me to remind me who i was, and brought me a little bit of happiness and enouragement. thank you for doing this, everyone of couse loves good food, but sometimes the layerss and depth is much more then that, i never really post personal things like this but it really is the truth and i thank you. - side note i love that you broil the steak i thought i was the only one including the urged to flip the steak while in the oven. - Zac

My grandmother was from Sicily, and she always make a dish with eye round pounded thin into medallions. She would do the same thing - dip each piece, dredge in same breadcrumb mixture, then roll up with a little extra cheese in thee middle. She'd thread the rolls on skewers with a piece of onion and a bay leaf in between each roll. Then she'd grill it.

Looks so good. Never heard of this before and you’re right I don’t see this at restaurants. I notice you don’t use a lot of salt which is good. I imagine you get the flavor from the garlic and bread crumbs. Will try this recipe tonight.

I have an innocent question. I am from Sicily but I've never heard of Sicilian steak. In fact, Sicilian cuisine is mostly vegan/vegetarian. My grandma didn't see a NY style stake until she was 60 or so :)
