That fill at 6:16 is absurd! 16th note triplet swiss army triplets in the hands, with the bass drum playing 16th notes underneath. The dude has chops, power, musicality, and a wide vocabulary! Unreal!

I'm putting Eloy in my top 3. I'm not saying Sepultura is a band I'm into, but this guy has to be the best metal drummer today. My other top 2 are: Danny Schuler -Biohazrd & Jordan Burns - Strung Out. I base this on style and technique not the overall band.

Balls, groove, musicality, fun. I'm sure there are more technical drummers out there somewhere, but as a guitar player, this is the kind of bandmember most of us dream about. Now excuse me while I pick up my jaw off the floor.

not on a milion years, igor style is old and outdated, eloy is a mix between a genious prog drummer and a extreme metal drummer, he is 27 now and he is already on elite level, there isn't a single amazing drummer that doesn't recognize how perfect he is while playing

Monstro demais, ta loko, eu que toco bateria eu nem consigo entender o que ele faz, kkkkk. só sei que é muita dinâmica e muita cabeça pra gravar todas as musicas o bpm e as pausas, ufa, esse cara é o melhor do Brasil, não posso dizer do mundo mas ele com certeza tocaria no Slipknot, Dream Thetater e outras bandas de metal progressivo tranquilo.

Brian Vratoric- I agree and disagree with you; it’s not about how many drum shells fit into your kit and can play on. It’s about how creative and tight you can play with the genre your in. Connor Dennis from beartooth is a great example. Granted I don’t love the sound of smashing the fuck out of his kit. But the dude has (just assuming on looks) a 16” floor to his left and a highly tuned 8” Tom that is above the hats. It’s just not traditionally set up. All of which he plays very powerfully and tight (kinda, love you can tell he gets tired)

Exatamente! não entendo o porquê dessa briga O Igor Cavalera foi um monstro na sua época, que ajudou a fundar e a tornar o que é o Sepltura hoje, já o Eloy, na minha opinião é o melhor batera brasileiro na atualidade, também um monstro, e um dos motivos pro Sepltura não ter ido pro saco ainda.

Comparações são naturais ainda mais dois bateristas na mesma banda, diria até que inevitáveis. É bobagem discutir quem é melhor baterista, o máximo que dá pra falar são sobre critérios objetivos, técnica, nisso o Eloy de fato é bem superior mas um batera tá longe de ser medido somente pela técnica.

Essa música me fazia me sentir tão grande na época da 6a 7a Série. Eu apanhava na escola e todo mundo me zoava, mas tipo, Sepultura, sempre me fez me reerguer e levantar a cabeça. Eu encontrei no Metal, um lugar onde não tinha padrões e eu podia me portar como queria, me sentir como queria e demonstrar o que sentia quando queria. Desperate Cry, é a música que mais me emociona dos caras, e eu tive a msm sensação agr, vendo o Eloy destruindo a batera. Gosto muito dos Cavalera, mas cara, essa música; e quase todas as músicas do Sepultura, pra mim tem significado de ódio e de medo ao msm tempo, então Parece que ele captou toda a msg e a música com ele, cara, dessa vez arrepiou tipo; lá na nuca msm :') SEPULTURA /,,/ VEM PRA CWB!!! E TOQUEM DESPERATE CRY!! VCS TEM MUITOS FÃS AQUI EM CURITIBA!

Monstro! Estão aí anos de esforço, dedicação, estudo, privações, foco e perseverança para se tornar um dos melhores bateras de Heavy Metal do mundo. Sobre as comparações e vendo aqui os comentários da galera, não faz sentido algum (na minha humilde opinião) que "qualquer baterista profissional com o mínimo de senso criativo, se sujeite ou aceite a tocar por muito tempo os arranjos de outro baterista exatamente iguais todas as noites da maneira como foram gravados sem ter a oportunidade de se expressar e colocar a sua marca e interpretação num trabalho já consolidado". A não ser por força de contrato ou necessidade de tocar apenas pelo dinheiro, no piloto automático ou sei lá o que. Cada caso é um caso. Depende da banda. Deram liberdade ao rapaz e ele manda o recado. Parabéns ao Eloy e a banda!

He don't play in the band that I like. Its important to make good music not just be a good drummer. He played in revocation for some gigs but phil dubois did a far better job. But he is plays in faceless thow, I like that band.

@@mairedegrasville99 Também sou baterista, mano. Eloy realmente não é rápido em Blast Beat, porque ele não é baterista de metal, como Alex. Eloy toca de tudo, do samba, Jazz, ao metal extremo. The Faceless é sim mais difícil de tocar que o sepultura, porque ali é Technical death metal, da mesma escola do Death. Você pode até não gostar do Eloy, mas falar que ele não é criativo, aí pegou pesado. Assista ao vídeo dele na página da Evans, e mudará rapidinho de opinião. O cara simplesmente dá um show de técnica e criatividade. Valeu, abraço.

I think so. I come back to this example of masterful drumming weekly. The crushing metal drumming with Latin influence is crazy and unmatched. He is one of this generations best.

I love watching Jay and Joey fan boys talk about how much better they are than him. Neither of those 2 could touch this song note for note but he could play any slipknot song, record accurate and with better timing, more power and aggression.

And I love it when Eloy fan Boyz try to make a competition out of it. There are a LOT of drummer who can and could play what Joey did, but there is just a small amount of drummers who influences so many with his unique style. Joey paved the way of the sound Slipknot is remaking again and again and new fans are still coming, but the real ones since day one will never disrespect Joey "Superball" Jordison! Heck, I'm sure even Eloy thinks as I do, because he is a fan of Joey and was influenced by his playstile. Drummers know who the real monster was, because we know covering is easier than inventing something new. Peace out boyz.

Found this video while browsing my favourite songs from my youth and my goodness. I’ve always appreciated Sepultura and other thrash bands for exceptional tempo changes and sync, but this was simply awesome to see all that from the drummer’s perspective! Thanks for the great video!

@@Ghghgh-nx1qi Not likely. It's phrasing and improvisation. He knows where his markers are and he can improvise between them. It's like knowing where you can paint on a canvas and where you can't. And he knows how far he can push the envelope. I doubt he sits there and practices this song note-for-note.
