I’m so so proud of this project, from the music to the visuals. Usually when you work on a song, it comes out officially a few months later down the line and you’ve mentally moved on from it already … this release is so special and rare because I’m personally still in the same headspace as I was when it was created. I’m not gonna lie, the world has gone a little mad. In my opinion, I feel we’ve lost that ability to be kind to each other in the way we once did. Everyone’s emotional guards seem to be up 24/7, which is why is so easy to offend or hurt someone even when the intentions aren’t there… and it’s not your fault. It’s the vibration of the events happening around us that are conditioning our minds to react this way. I know it’s hard, but through this chaos we have to find a way to unite and look out for our neighbours, because it’s the only way to break out this gloomy spell we all seem to be under. I tried to touch on all the above from an interesting angle. Making a song with lyrics like “save the world and let’s come together” just felt cheesy to me and didn’t communicate the inner darkness I was feeling. So instead, it’s written from the POV of a person obsessed with ruthlessly winning in this world; doesn’t matter who he has to hurt to get there, he will, while focusing on the material things he has that give him those wonderful brief boosts of dopamine like money, new designer clothes, combined with women and drugs. Meanwhile, the ENTIRE FREAKING WORLD is blowing up around him, and he’s completely oblivious to it. That was the visual I was trying to paint behind this, to hopefully get across the message of how absurd this self-obsessed guy looks and the things he’s decided to focus on when there are so many other things he could be doing to help make this planet a better place. It’s a deep and hard topic to create about, but I love how it makes me feel and how it turned out. I hope by listening to it you feel inspired to do at least one good thing for a total stranger today and help to make this shiny blue rock a little more peaceful for everyone who lives on it 😷💜 Spread the Sickness… the right kind. -S
