I've just finished watching the 'Side By Side' film on (Australian) ABC. Really engaging. It is an interesting debate, as Keanu highlights in this interview. But this is just typical human progress. Horse-and-buggy to cars. Of course people missed the horses. But how many people have horses now? I'm certain digital cameras and graphics software will keep improving to the point where directors find them advantageous over celluloid. Yes, there is the danger of films being lost to bulging cloud storage servers, but all things are impermanent. Maybe what we'll need are cloud museums, to preserve the best art that truly gifted individuals will produce. There will always be rare individuals who's work sets the standard for what our culture defines as 'art'.

My grandpa use to feed my love of photography with York. Every roll of film you sent to get developed, they sent you back 3, but you had to send it back to them because it was unused movie film. I did not know that until 20yrs Later. Well, looks to me, Film has been outed & Digital is in... ⭐️💋

Saw this movie last night, really good and honest.

The interviewer is talking too much. more than Keanu! its like he wants to show his knowledge ... why?? I want this to see what Keanu has to say, he made this film. I don't care what the interviewer has to say... just ask questions, that is your job. The FILM itself is very good! Tells the story of how the technology has changed and advanced through the past 100 years. it shows how it effects the process of film making from different perspectives in a very interesting and captivating way.

it could've been a more insightful interview specially on keanu's part (since he's the producer of the film) if only the interviewee didn't talk so much. it's almost like he was giving sermon to keanu lol

For those who did not get a chance to this wonderful documentary made by Keanu Reeves is on Tubi TV. I really liked one the director when he said now with new technologies you cannot take your girlfriend as in the past in 1950. 60.70, 80 and make out. That made me laugh. It is a very interesting documentary.

Great interview; answered my question, I wondered who thought of the idea for the documentary, I like that Keanu Reeves is curious to try something new while also getting info and answers.

This conversation is a learning experience about film! I love learning new stuff so I enjoyed this conversation. By no means there conversation ever felt like an interview. Listening to these guys was Great! Thanks! Love to Keanu and all his fans.

the digital format impact in the industry today is a great disaster,hundres and hundres of employments are lost arround the worl,and movies lokk like a playstation game with bad actors.this is hollywood decadence.

Keanu's Dad left him and his Mom when Keanu was only 9 months old. In 2000, Keanu's wife gave birth to a baby that died moments after (s)he was born. In 2001, Keanu's wife had gotten into a car accident, killing her from the injuries. In 1993, his best friend at the time, River Phoenix, had died of a drug overdose RIGHT IN FRONT OF Keanu. Keanu's sister has been suffering from lukimia. His brother has been in and out of jail since he was a teenager. Keanu has dyslexia. He recently filed a restraining order because someone broke into his home. Regarding the loss, Reeves has said that the death of his child and his lover was “unfair” and “absurd”, but even then, would you have handled it with such grace? I would have flipped a thousand chairs, punched out twenty windshields, peed myself, and then fallen into a deep, drug-fueled depression, that would only end in my untimely death. Yet, he just went on living. And acting. Never took a break. And in that time, he played heroes. Always, the quiet heroes. Could you have worn a face like that amid all of that sadness?
