As a teacher, I sadly haven't run into any answers like this. However, I love surprising the shit out of my students by incorporating references to games/KZfaq/memes/... into my lessons and tests. For example, I taught a class about music vocab (I teach English in Belgium) and when we got to the musical instruments, I had pictures of JJ and the flute and Pewds and his tambourine tower in my PowerPoint. We also discussed the alphorn saga.

At 6:45 that actually happened in my grade 11 history class. We had a unit test on Europe and one of the questions we had to write a few paragraphs on some of the things that happened that made Europe what it is today. And the girl next to me was from Taiwan and she had to use her phone to translate all class because she didn’t speak much English. And when we had the test the teacher first got mad at her for using her phone to translate. Then she realized she couldn’t do the test without it. The next day when we got the test back the teacher called her over to her desk and the teacher said her phone couldn’t translate what she had written. “I tried translating from mandarin characters and Japanese character and it didn’t work. Did you write random fake characters just so you wouldn’t have to do the test?” The girl grabbed a sticky note and wrote “I’m from Taiwan” and grabbed her stuff and left and never came back to the class 😂
