The paint masters on the prototypes always look great. They have some of the best painters doing them, some who I know personally. Well, used to know back when I was heavily into collecting. The copies roll down the assembly line in China, and I guess they do the best with what time they are given. Personally, I would repaint this one myself and keep it.

First thing I noticed was the healthy tan! You've got some decent sunglasses! Another cool Alien piece! Loved when you flamed Sideshow over their shipping costs. That would really tick me off too. SS has my order prepped for delivery. I am excited over it but not as much as waiting for P1’s Queen reveal since their teaser on Alien day.

Thanks for the honest review. I have it on p.o. and it arrived today and i am thinking about selling it forthwith seeing some sloppy paint job, i don't want to risk unboxing it. I should wait for Prime1 future Alien 1/4 pieces. Expensive but quality guaranteed. There have been complaints over SS pieces and their paint app. I have one SS piece and that is one of the coolest, Deathwing. I should keep that one only and no longer invest on SS.

Great review as always. I picked up the King when it first became available. Been on the fence to get this to match. I saw Prime 1 advertising an "Alien Queen Battle Scene". No scale listed. The few videos and photos out there, it's definitely larger than this. Going to hold out for that. I'm sure Prime 1 will push the $1500 mark, however based on my experience with them, it will be worth the money. At the price point of $1100 for this, just not worth it.

I agree about the hit or miss. It's like I will only get certain pieces depending on who sculpted it. Lately I haven't been impressed. I have a lot more pieces coming from XM and Prime 1 over anything right now. I was kinda let down by all the pvc and what feels like rubber on the Doomsday. Still haven't decided whether I'm going to keep it, depends on whether they replace my head sculpts that in my opinion have weak magnets when compared to others. But overall I think it's a great looking piece. I just feel like the cost isn't justified when I know what I get from P1 and XM. Sideshow better step up. Plus you are right on the shipping. great video as always. Thanks

Good review, this statue looks pretty good although there are some bad paint work in some parts which you have stated .

Definitely not 1/6 scale. As Hot Toys 1/6 Warrior is 14” in height, only 5” shorter than that Queen. If you want an awesome Queen of the same scale for about $500, get the Palisades one...one is up for grabs on eBay right now. The Palisades Queen has a meaner pose as well.

Looks awesome. Great job summarizing sideshow. The iron man line is a complete disaster. Out of 2 1/2 scales, 4 life size busts I couldn't keep any due to QC issues.

Great review, but I know I shouldn’t of watched it as my box doesn’t arrive until tomorrow 😑. Will be my first alien piece and probably won’t even open it. I appreciate you sharing and picking it apart though.

I got mine last week. The paint isn't as good as the King and she has a bit too much plastic. She has some minor defects as well and i've been finding paint brush hairs on her and the base. What they look like anyways. Overall she still looks good and the defects are minor. But for the price I would like less plastic nonsense especially on her body. I have to watch your review at home later but i'm sure your concerns will be similar to mine.

Just recently found your channel and subscribed. I think this piece looks to be a miss overall when you consider its price. You would think with all the competition Sideshow is getting lately from companies like Prime 1 and XM Studios they would be stepping up their game on every piece they produce. Anyway great job on the review and I'll be checking out some of your other videos. I can see myself coming back to your channel quite often.

Hi, just found your review as i m planning to buy it .... but i m unsure now , how would you compare it against Tsume and kids logic ( waiting for deathmask from tsume and athena from kids logic).

mine is either "game over man game over!!" or "why don't you put her in charge!!" .....hudson man hudson lol runner ups are "yeah but its a dry heat!" use it all the time and apone when he says "look into my eye" lol "stop your grinning and drop your lining" jesus I just realized hudson has almost all my fav lines lol last buy not least "take off nuke it from orbit only way to be sure" Im done now lol

The detail is amazing on this piece. I love the base! But the price point just doesn't seem right for the size.

The warriors are not to scale with her. The Palisades Queen itself is superior in accuracy, pose, gloss and sculpt. Base is cheesy and too busy. 5-pointed nut/bolt heads around the base come on guys.

The King is better, the Queen is boring, over $1000 without the eggcase is BS. Why they wouldn’t go with the definitive eggcase design is weak, so what if it would’ve cost more, this design is what you could do with the Neca AlienQueen for only $100. They should’ve did the pose with the tail through Bishop prior to the battle with the power loader.
