Sidewalk Art Sale Surprise

Scott and friends over at Wet Paint, my local Art Supply store, sent me over a box of art supplies from their once-a-year side walk sale. I gave them a $75 budget and asked them to surprise me. ooohh, a box in a box in a box 😀! The Rembrandt paints look nice and the quote speaks to me: "Feeling how the elements adapt to a single will." I have always loved this freedom in creating. And I love watercolour for their unique qualities; they also have their own will and cannot be completely controlled. Wishing you a happy summer time, Marty! 🌳☀🙋🏻‍♀

Hi Anja - Thank you for the kind note. Have you tried these Rembrandt paints? Are you interested in Ecoline brush pens?

@@owingsart I haven't tried the Rembrandt paints - Daniel Smith is all I need🙂. No, I'm not interested in the Ecoline Brush pens. PS: I have bought the Pitt Graphite Matt Pens that you reviewed recently. They are really nice but they definitely feel different on paper compared to a regular pencil. PPS: Have you ever tried the granulating watercolour paints from Schmincke?

So cool!! I couldn't make it to the sidewalk sale, but it didn't occur to me to ask them to make up a grab bag for me!! Next time!!

Wow!!! Awesome!!! Such a good deal!!! Damn I wish I could have gone!! Those Maimeri tube paints are really great paint!! Usually very expensive; such a good find! Great video and thanks for sharing. 💙

I have a small set of 20 of the ecoline brush markers and I do like very much. I actually plan on buying more colors as I am able to, even though I have plenty of water based markers but ya know, you always want more!!! LOL!!

First up i wish i had a Scott, to pick out some surprise art stuff for me, it is like receiving a friendly art sub box. Thank you for the video. I am in the process of doing some coloured pencil comparisons, have you ever compared kids line, with the art student line and professional artist line before? Like in the case of faber castell, red box, blue box and green box?

That's a lovely set of surprises, Marty! Enjoy! . I'm shocked at the US price of the Rembrandt! $134 converts to €128. That set is currently sold on Amazon France at €57.68, which is $60.16! So yes, even in French prices, you got it for a *very* good price! I'd be interested to see the swatching and art work with the Rembrandt. I think you've done Van Gogh before?

Yes that seems high for these if not on sale, but I think maybe because they are made in the EU they are cheaper there?

Hey Marty, mother-tongue Italian here - if it helps, Maimeri is pronounced somewhat like "My-Mary" (as in, a person called Mary, that is mine), but with a rolled R 😊. For some reason people keep pronouncing it as if it were a French name (it's *not* "My-Marie") 😄
