Garoto composer - a short life of a musical genius of mid20th century Brazil. Thanks to several Carmen Miranda movies, we can all hear him play in her band. He died at 39 of a heart attack. His full name: Aníbal Augusto Sardinha (June 28, 1915 - May 3, 1955). Sierra, I would love to hear your full band do an arrangement based on this! I can hear it blossoming in my mind!!

Thank you for this mandola gem. I am thinking mandola is the "voice" in the mando family that i want to pursue learning on and it's hard to find recordings demonstrating that alto sound. I am a cellist and dreaming of playing bach cello suites on mandola...

I really like this one! I'm curious: is your philosophy to alternate pick as much as possible? I haven't noticed any economy/sweep/cross picking in your videos, but I am not that experienced of a player/viewer so I could be missing things. I learned guitar influenced by a lot of fairly strict alternate pickers in the metal genres, so I've always struggled with economy/cross picking since I discovered and fell in love with bluegrass. I'd love to hear about your philosophy and experience with picking technique! :)
