On today’s adventure, I find a spot loaded with flint flakes and fire rock. I found one whole point and several broken points. I somehow got the camera turned on when I put it back into the chess harness, so I’m going to include some “behind the scenes” footage in case you would like to see more of the process of filling the screen instead of just when I find something.

awesome video. i am 17 and obsessed with this hobby my grandfather had access to 5000 acres on the savannah river from 1980-1998 in south carolina. SC isn’t known for its artifacts but the savannah river sure is. The land had about half a dozen mounds on it and countless more in the area. He had one of the largest and most significant private collections in the country. Sadly he had some. medical issues from nuclear plant work in the 60s and wasn’t too close with my father. In the end he sold out his entire collection… bannerstones, tons of complete pottery, burial urns, hundreds and hundreds of points, a few dozen axes and celts, etc. The natives in this area were very ceremonial, he had several one of a kind huge pieces thought to be ceremonial. In the end all we got were about 2 dozen 5 gallon buckets of broken points, pottery, stones, and flakes. about 100 points that were either too special or not special enough to sell, 6 mortar and pestles, some pipes, pictures of what he had. I wasn’t old enough to remember seeing it all but from the pictures and what I have heard, it was amazing. Not many sites left like that in the country.

Thanks! That sucks losing a collection like that. I have seen videos of some really large collections that have come from the coastal areas, so I believe he had a good collection. I'm sure there are still lots of artifacts waiting to be found in your area. They may be harder to find then they used to be because more people hunt them and a lot of the easy to find stuff has been found. Thanks for watching and good luck searching for artifacts!

Yeah, this site had a lot more material than I am used to seeing. That definitely gives me hope of finding something good. I didn't want to bore anyone when I decided to include some of the extra footage, so I made it clear what it was in case anyone doesn't want to watch it. Thanks for watching!

Like the little identification screen you are putting up for each artifact

Thanks! I decided to do that instead of a "clean up" segment because of the "behind the scenes" footage that I included in the video. I don't like to make the video too long, so the onscreen text helped.

The thing about trash sights is that it's hard to give up on them. Stay on em out there👍🏹

You got that right. It is rare to find that much material without a good point, but it is hard to walk away from it. You just keep thinking the next screen will have a killer in it. Good luck!
