Sig P365X/XL Magazine Options

Today we'll look at a couple of Sig factory magazine options for the P365 x and XL, as well as an increased capacity (14 rounds) from MagGuts, that works best for my CCW goals

Made three of my factory 12 round mags for the 365XL into the MagGuts +2 version. Over the last 3 range outings I have put a total of 600 rounds through them without a hiccup using 115,124gr FMJ as well as 124gr Gold Dot. Two points, the red follower is red for a reason (other than quick ID as a 14 rounder), when the 14th round is loaded the aft tab of that follower shows up clearly thru the small gap at the rear of the baseplate, and that 14th round is easy to handload compared to the stock 12th round. Overall I love them and am EDC with them now.

Sig did an awesome job on the P365, and now MagGuts makes this little gun. 14+1? Super awesome. Mine work fine so far. Sig needs to team up with MagGuts to make these an option and with Tactical Dev to make the 15 rounder’s mag base plate something to be proud of.

I’ve got the P365XL and haven’t bought the magguts yet for my 12 rounders but have been thinking about it so this video was perfect timing. I generally conceal carry with my 15 round magazine +1 and it’s still small enough for me to conceal carry comfortably with out printing. However, that said, it is much easier to conceal with the 12 rounders so buying the magguts to have almost the same capacity with more concealment is a good idea and I agree with you.

Good info, I've been considering this for my 12-round mags. When I carry my P365XL, I carry with a 12-round magazine in the pistol and a 15-round as a spare. I normally carry P320 XCcmpact, but sometimes a little more slender pistol is nice. I'll definitely give these a try. Great video, thanks for the info.

I would personally test that mag heavily before using it for ccw , just to make sure it will run

I just purchased the P365XL this morning, this afternoon ordered more mags and 3 Mag guts. Not carrying those Mag gut mags until I put 200+ rds through each. But I like the idea of that size pistol with 14+1.

I have these in all of my P365 and P365XL. 500 rounds on the P365 without issue, 300 on the XL without issue. I have them in my wife’s Springfield 911 as well, 300 rounds without issue and in my 43 it was 300 rounds without issue before I sold it. At least 250 of all these rounds were with carry ammo, fyi

Is mag guts illegal in CT? We're limited to 10 round magazines but I feel like Noone would be able to tell there's two extra rounds in there. No one is going to be looking at my gun... I can fit 10 in mag, 1 in tube.

Got the MagGuts kits on the way for my new P365X. I don't have a warm, fuzzy feeling about the factory 12-rounders. I've loaded and unloaded each of them 3 times and there is STILL a very pronounced tension on the bottom of the slide when I insert a fully-loaded magazine (almost to the point that I would worry about the slide cycling properly with a full mag and one in the pipe). I haven't made it out to the range to see if my suspicions are warranted, but there's so much tension on the slide from the top round in the magazine that I can barely pull the slide back. Sounds like the MagGuts kit will eliminate that.

Just purchased my 365xl two days ago and am having the same issue with pulling the slide back. After a little experimenting, I find that if I load the mags with 11 rnds instead of 12, that I can pull the slide with no real problem. I also noticed one other thing, that when I insert a fully loaded (12 rnds), that I really have to slap the mag into the gun for it to lock in but when I have only 11 rnds, that the mag goes in just as easily as my P320. I should not that neither of these problems were ever present on the P320. I am guessing that it has to do with getting a full 12 rnds into the smaller mag. I also have the 15 rnd mag for the 365xl and the same problems exist. For now, I guess I will have to only have 11 rnds in the 12 rnd mag or 14 in the 15 rnd mag. Since it has been 4 months since this post, have you gotten to the range and if so, has it helped with the spring problem? Also, did you get the MagGuts kit and did it solve the problem. Thanks

@@robertivey3268 - MagGuts kit definitely got rid of the problem, a real bonus with an increase to 14+1 carry in such a small pistol and adds about 3/16" to grip length which is just perfect for my hands. Have had no problems at all with function with the kit.

@@dkindig Thanks so much for the timely reply. I have spent hours researching the problem on the web and only found a few threads about it. I am going to order the magguts kits for my 365 as well as run a few hundred rounds through the gun by tomorrow just to get the feel of the gun and for the springs to loosen up. Thanks Bob Ivey

Good video. I have the standard 12 round of course and I purchased the 15 round just to go to the range with bc like you said it's too long to carry but thanks for the information on the 14 round.

That would be cool but the 12 rounder that holds 14 is more efficient for the size. Only disadvantage with skinny magazines is that they are longer.

@@RockyMountainWest13 I was also going to buy a 15 rounder for backup but once I got the Magguts it became pointless to me. For the size I just rather carry or buy mor stock mag with MG that holds 14, the 15 rounders are too long even with Magguts. They make pro mag 20 rounders I think too if you're worried about the round count 🤔

I had a bad problem with mag-guts about 2 years ago. It just didn’t work. I tried a few workarounds but to no avail. Just threw it in my spare gun parts box.

I just bought the p365 12 round and it came with extra extension base plates and neither fit my XL module. I put a XL module on my 365 slide

I regret buying the p365 over the p365x. The p365xl is just lightly bigger than the p365/p365x. The only difference is size.

@@michealbrandenburg6240 do you actually have right handed sig 2022 mags. Im not joking i want to buy some. In case you dont know right handed mags have the holes for counting rounds on the left side of the mag. Left handed have the holes on the right and ambidextrous mags have them on the spine.
