BTW he also plays the saxophone, speaks Chinese, and was in pre-med at Yale when he joined PTX. 🙂

Mary Lou Howarth he really is such a talented man. He played saxophone at Carnegie Hall when he was a teenager. Such a brilliant and talented man with a beautiful voice.

This man is one of the most talented and gifted individuals in the world PERIOD. He is educated, knows multiple languages, plays instruments, beast at beatboxing, can sing his ass off, is a producer, writer, and so much more. Like it's ridiculous. I got the change to meet him briefly before a concert and although it was just a hello since it was an autograph session, I still feel honored. I hope I can meet him again one day so I can personally say what I said here. God please protect this man at all costs he is one of a kind.

Thank you for reacting to KO. He is amazing. You should watch his cover of "Down" because it will knock your socks off. Other standouts are "Stay with Me", "Friends" and "Adele medley". Actually, everything on his KO channel is incredible. All that talent and a good human too.

The 'thing' he was playing was an 'electric cello'. Both loopers are linked and also the keyboard, so whatever station he's at he can control what's turned on and off at any time. And then he sings!!!!! First time I watched this, I needed to lay down. And I'm a musician!!

Confusion is a valid reaction when you witness something the next level (or two or three). I will give you one more thing to burn your brain on... The "high stuff" was actually him looping with himself multiple times to create a choir of KO with echoing choral work. BTW His KOver of Down will REALLY mess you up.

The Christina- Head tilt and the Dennis - What?? face, says all the things :) Love ya guys. Kevin is such a talent! The looping of voices with the drumming going on at the same time.... had me doing the what?? face the first time I heard it as well. Take care :)

Kevin also has songs where he beat boxes and plays the cello at the same time, so I assume singing and hitting the drum pad were similar (if not easier) for him to do.

So glad you've started on Kevin's work. I loved your What?! face, I can relate. I love this one, I think it's my second favorite, with Down being my fave. But really I like the two together, because in this one his vocals and rhythm blow me away, while in Down it's his beatboxing & cello work. Both of them showcase his INSANE musicality. He's truly a prodigy.

I'm loving the new intro/outro. My only thing is that the music/sound for them is so much louder than the audio for the rest of the video, so it scared the living daylights out of me both times. 💛

His electric cello was originally named Jay-Z, but KO changed it because his mum thought it should be "Mr Carter". He listened to his mum (Good son Kevin) twitter.com/kolusola/status/581897052809879552?lang=en 😊 KO also has at least 4 brains.... legit...Watching him add each section to the loop is so cool - to actually think that process out before he starts would be awesome to watch too...oh to be a fly on the wall in KO's studio... magical !

Kevin is a talented genius, he’s incredible and one of the smartest guys I know. I love Pentatonix Mitch is my favourite but I adore all of them so much.

One more level of complexity is the way he adds and removes of loop layers via foot buttons and hand controls all while performing. The timing has to be spot on for each loop or it would be a hot mess in a second. You’re already sitting , but you might want to install seatbelts if you listen to his Marion Hill “DOWN” cover.

If you ever get a chance to watch, PTX did a whole video series following them on tour. Kevin brings around his laptop in case the inspiration strikes him to lay down some tracks on either a solo project or a thought he's following for PTX. I am assuming that his videos are the brain child of him working out the tracks while on the road :) Pentaholics please correct me if I'm wrong.

👉👉More Kevin solo projects!! Just so you know Scott, has solo stuff and colabs.... PLUS he and Mitch had a side duo project and they go by the name SUP3RFRUIT (its actually a channel) Kirstie put out an AWESOME EP a few years back called LOVE (Check it out) Matt has side projects where he sings Christian music. Mitch has a few things and is working on a side solo project. Then there is A LOT more Avi stuff. He did some side projects while still in PTX as Avriel and the Seqouias (Avriel is his full first name) + MORE Acapop Kids and Citizen Queen😀👍
