Signal Box at Southport 1992

It controls the line from Liverpool-Southport and the line from Wigan into Southport as well as the adjacent yard and turning triangle around the box.
All recorded on VHS back in 1992

That was part of my maintenance area when I was S&T lineman there between 1989 and 1990. I remember Harry, the signalman very well. Lovely bloke. An interesting little video. I am curious as to the purpose of the visit? Are you a former BR man, Mike, as I am? I started in August 1977 and retired in December 2018. BR was a great organisation and should never have been privatised in my opinion. I’ll shut up and take my pills now. 😆

No, I was the manager of C & A in Liverpool for 10 years. Managing over 200 female staff, railways was a complete change for relaxation. I'm just so pleased I kept all my original video tapes and bought a new VHS player recently so I can share my interests

Has daft has it sounds I started my railway career at Southport in 1986 at the p-way depot based there And I don’t ever remember the signal box
