Love your educational videos especially this one and the load lines one! Very easy to follow and understand. Regarding transformers, output ones, I am looking at trying a 5k:5ohm LL1682 but my speakers are 8ohm, was wondering what problems would that cause like maybe bandwith issues. Need a good 10k:8ohm in my circuit but 8k would work. My output tubes are 6p1p in push pull A class. Thank you for posting all this great stuff and looking forward to new affordable tube discoveries and projects. PS: Russian 6H7C are very cheap preamp tubes with good linearity and paraleled are capable to drive interstage trafos, could be an affordable alternative to 6SN7 with a little less gain. They where intended for class B output stages. George.

I’ve had very good luck with the 6H8C too.

@@danrussell9357 There are so many projects I could talk about. Was there a specific one you’d like explained? I think my most recent completed projects are a 407a transformer output pre and a 6n6p cathode coupled pre.

@@Edgarbopp Yes, that would be a good topic. For example, you had a FB picture of it in one chassis, but the PS then got its own enclosure. I appreciate the way you are always working to make the design better. There is a lot of thought going into the work that is easier to digest as a video. I watch all your amp content.

@@danrussell9357 perfect! I’ll plan a video talking about that preamp and the process of designing it.

What are you looking at to decide distortion is becoming wonky? Thank you

Does this work for high frequency current measurement. Which ranges from 0.1 to 10amp
@Edgarbopp10 ай бұрын
I don’t know about that. Sorry!

i always thought low impedance is a heavy load. and high impedance is a light load, that wont change the outputlevel much??
@Edgarbopp10 ай бұрын
Yea! If you load the secondary too much you will reduce the output level. I’m only loading it sufficiently to remove the frequency response issues though.
