Notes: • It is not unusual for one’s strength in Iman to fluctuate. To counter this, Allah (swt) has instituted tabwa (repentance); prevents a person from giving up when they feel they have reached rock bottom. • Signs of low faith; o Committing sins without guilt. o Hard heart; does not feel like doing good deeds. o Feeling lazy / not inspired to do good deeds. o No value for religion. o No tawakul / reliance on Allah (swt); gets irritated on minor issues and character. deteriorates, meanness in the heart. o Being mean and stingy. o Rejoicing at the calamities of others. o Not concerned with doubtful things; only cares about halal and haram. o Mocking Islam and the Sunnah. o No concern for the state of Muslims around the world. o Obsessive concern with one’s appearance. o Sins have become so repetitive that one becomes accustomed to it and no longer. recognise it as a sin; hardened heart. o Not knowing one is committing sins; compounded ignorance. • Remedies; o Learn and reflect on the Quran and Sunnah. o Learn and reflect on the stories of previous Prophets and the Sahaba. o Spend on others and help others. o Gain and implement knowledge to overcome ignorance. o Attend spiritual gatherings. o Dhikr. o The closer one gets to Allah (swt) the more barakah, time and opportunities will open. o Constantly imagine one’s positive state at death and the positive things one will say at the time of death. o Never justify wrong actions.  Do sincere tawba. o Never lose hope and give up.
