Dream bigger than a Kangaroo, Sigrid. Graham Norton.
Sigrid - Strangers. The Graham Norton Show.
BBC1. 19 Jan 2018.
Lyrics:
Just like in the movies
It starts to rain
We're the broken beauties
Blindfolded minds collide and we fall
When the curtain drops
Our touch is just a touch
Not like in the movies
Our stories after the end
Like strangers
Perfect pretenders
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
Just you and I
Strangers
Perfect pretenders
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
Just you and I
Memories in photos
Too easy to rewrite
Left us lonely shadows
Holding each other tight and we fall
When the curtain drops
Our touch is just a touch
Not like in the movies
Our stories after the end
Like strangers
Perfect pretenders
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
Just you and I
Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be
I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone
Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be
I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone
You and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I
Not like in the movies
You and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I
Not like in the movies
Like strangers
Perfect pretenders
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
Just you and I
Strangers
Perfect pretenders
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
Just you and I
Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be
I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone
Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be
I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone
Strangers
(Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be)
Perfect pretenders
(I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone)
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
(Think we got it but we're made of a dream

Just you and I

Yes, such a nice change to see a lady just wearing jeans, t-shirt and minimum make up, always says to me that they are confident with who they are, not pretending to be somebody who they are not, very refreshing and welcome :o)

She's so refreshing, really different. When you see her sitting there, you think it's just some kid off the street. Then she sings and dances - totally amazing. I love how natural she is, no BS, just a girl in jeans and a t-shirt singing her heart out. Amazing song as well, can't get it out my head.

she is just a regular kid off the street. just a regular kid who is the coolest chick ✌️ jusssst walked through my door coming from one of her concerts and she is just amazing. effortlessly cool and laid back. she wore jeans, a baggy knitted jumper and a wooly hat on stage, and no makeup. just her on stage, dancing, singing....and it was the best show i’ve seen in years!

I wish that not only more artists should be more natural like Sigrid, but also that more people could be themseves instead of pretending to be someone else. I'm bored of meeting people who just follow the crowd all the time. I can understand fashion to some extent but, the way people, especially teenagers, literally everything they do , their behaviour etc. just to follow the crowd. It makes the world monotonous and we need some originality in our world. Sadly, there's a lack of it. I wish I could meet someone like Sigrid in real life, they would make a great friend for life.

Liam Neeson gave this advice to 'eat and rest', because it was kind of unsentimental of the anchorman to tell Sigrid to 'dream bigger', well it was just a fun remark. It was in that context that Liam wanted to help Sigrid out, showing empathy. The message was clear enough, Sigrid understood very well.

the strange pan across cut was obviously a re-take because the keyboards arpeggios wouldn't stay in sync! So I guess they cut and re-started in the middle. Smartly hidden. After that the arpeggios start going out again and you can see her start to roll her eyes but they keep going and he makes it.. :) It's actually a really tricky business to trigger an arpeggiator on time while playing live, it can easily slip out

We never went to school together so I have no idea. There are like 5 high schools in that town btw, so it is not weird that I do not know. But we know lots of the same people, and because of that I assume she was not ^^

I remember watching this at the time it was first broadcast and I love it that her moves are completely I choreographed and completely instinctive. Sigrid’s voice is amazing, to think that was all live and only aided by a microphone.

I think the word WOW explains this amazing talent . Don't ever change Sigrid just get better and better which you will . The simplicity of this and yet profound talent is so refreshing in a World of plastic and studio music , raw and real and a voice not contorted to sound different but a genuine one . Rave on Sigrid Solbakk Raabe.

This music isn't to my taste, but I thought this was an amazing performance when I saw it on the show, and I've remembered it ever since because of its professionalism. Obviously a really talented artist who gave a wonderful performance - she really did own the stage (and didn't feel the need to wear skimpy clothes either). A joy to watch.

I am sorry, but I can't understand this. There's no emotion, or feelings, or special meaning to the song. It's just a beat and some lyrics. I'm not trying to be offensive, I am just trying to understand, cause I don't. Is it because the song sounds like a trending hit? Or is it because people find it easy to listen to it in the background? How does the song put you in a good mood, and what makes it so? The music or the lyrics, or something else? Genuinley wondering, please don't read this in the wrong way - imagine me as someone who has never encountered music like this before.

Valid question! Havana is just a great mood booster. Makes me wanna dance. Love her voice. The groove is irresistible. I love all types of music from punk, folk, hardcore, hiphop and whatever else you can imagine, but i am first and foremost a song person, so if i hear a track that gets me going, it doesn't matter if it's on a 60 year old vintage record or on the radio. I don't personally feel like all the music i listen to has to have some deep message or speak to me. There's certainly music for that, and i love it, too. Havana just puts me in a great mood. Have a good day and thanks for the question!

But this is Sigrid - Strangers, not Havana... I get what you're saying about music, though, but I just can't see it in this song. Guess it's different from person to person.

Oh, I'm sorry! I was having a conversation with someone on youtube about how they hated Havana, and i thought you were the same person. Um, honestly? You could copy and paste the same thing i said about Havana for this song. Sigrid is just a little firecracker. Totally fun. You can see how much she loves music and performing. It's infectious.
