For those of you who get that panicky feeling of getting caught out of rhythm or wanting to breathe too often, do a length of the pool front crawl without breathing. This will improve your lung capacity and improve that panic feeling. After a few lengths (with rest between), practice your breathing...you will be less panicky.

A lenght of a pool in one breath is somewhat impossible for me as a beginner. 😅

@@clickbaitpolice9792 it’s more about seeing how far you can go. You can always spin on your back and catch your breath. But my crawl technique got much better once I maximized my arm and leg motion. Then I learned how to breathe. Worked for me anyway.

Thank you for this. I see my problem now. I’ve been taking a breath every 6 strokes. Time to learn breathing from both sides!
@cutbeard
@cutbeard Жыл бұрын
Breathing on one side is fine, bilateral isn’t necessary. You have to glide on your side as she does in the video. Practise looking down while Pushing off the side pike position keep looking down then when want to move while floating turn onto your back. There are KZfaq videos showing this drill. Practise is key.

I've been going about twice a week trying to learn how to swim for the pass 3 weeks. I know how to kick, been praticing breathing thru my nose under water. I'm just having trouble with once in with head down first with nose breathing. when coming up to breathe that's where I get off track with taking that breath thru my mouth. then I lose balance with body which slows down my kicking. I do want to swim, love being in water. I love this demonstration will try to focus and learn by this. thank you

Hi Dinah, thanks for commenting! Glad you like the video and are enjoying being in the water- it sounds like you're making excellent progress already! The turning movement can take a little bit of getting used to, but with practice your breathing motion will be smooth and natural in no time. Keep up the good work, and do let us know how you get on :)

Hi. Where would you recommend to look when moving the head to the side? Looking at the side of the pool, maybe slightly behind? Just want to avoid lifting my head up at all costs.
@SikanaEnglish
@SikanaEnglish 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Henrik, thanks for your question! You're right, you don't want to lift your head, the movement should be a simple, natural rotation to the side. Try looking slightly behind you to get comfortable with this, maintaining one goggle lens (if you wear goggles) in the water to make sure you don't over-rotate. Hope this helps- please let us know how you get on! :)

If you start your breath before your hand (on your breathing side) even leaves the water you will have more time to take a breath. As soon as your hand is going back in the water your face must already be in the water. This is how I got rid of a lot of water getting into my mouth. Also take smaller breaths instread of big inhales. Imagine you are on the land and breathing normally.

Exhale through your nose while turning sideways to get a breath. That will ensure that water stays out of it.

I get tired easily while swimming in crawl, ive read this is because I dont exhale enough but I do exhale underwater, should I swim longer without breathing?
@7prudent

I swim without breathing in for couple meters, and then end my swimming. Then I turn back and do the same to the opposite direction. Maybe try swimming like this to improve your lungs.

It is like you would still swallow water (through mouth or nose), but I don't know. - that's why I fear trying this. Also, you need a pool for this to practice first, sea is harder.

If i exhale almost all my air then dont u think body will sink quickly? How much minimum air should we keep in our lungs or because of speed it doesn't matter?

@7prudent
@7prudent Жыл бұрын
@@TwoWheelsCraft I do not think you will be able to exhale all the air completely, also you will be moving in the water, so I do not think that you would sink. I swim while constantly breathing out through my nose, without ever breathing in, and I do not sink. I do that until I am out of breath.
