It may take several months for flood waters to recede completely in Sylhet region. In addition to suffering, women and children are at extreme health risk. Education is being disrupted. Experts say rainfall is increasing in Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, and Assam due to global climate change. Greater Sylhet region is drowning in flash floods. Coordinated action should be taken to deal with the situation.
