Great video Gerry and a nice sward of grass it'll make good silage. I wonder would is better to triple the first round as this helps speed up lifting..further down the line a front mower might be more fuel efficient than two tractors..🚜🚜

The 215 is crying out for a Front Mower Gerry. Would be interesting to try one for the second cut to see what the fuel usage increase is? Might surprise you how little extra is used!

Can’t beat the start of silage season. Much like stock turnout, two lovely times of the year. That 6R 215 is surprisingly agile. I never expected you to say it has a better lock than the 6930. Excellent content as always Gerry. I’ll catch you on the next one 👍🏼

Yea silage is great time of year…. It’s up there with letting stick out as you say, mowing hay, starting to cut harvest and putting stock back in. Yes the 215 is surprising, the lock is a great bonus. Just leaves it so agile. it’s a smashing tractor

What immaculate gear-like new. Well done. A little surprised you left back window open ,dangerous but knowing your more than doing anything well there'd be no stone,there is apparently a cling on screen you can buy to protect window,no idea how good but a suggestion.

To be fair. Back window dosnt be open too much when mowing unless at in a field or to listen to the mower. It’s shut 99% of the Time. Yea I seen those screens. There a good job.

It’s insta 360 camera. Takes footage 360 degrees and you can choose what direction you look when editing . Have it a while but Havnt used it much. It’s Gona be great for these kinda videos

Generally between 35/40 Acres per cut. And we plans to do 2 full cuts and maybe a field or 2 in 3rd cut

What’s the go with putting the swarther in the up position travelling on the road?? I see it seems to be a trend going on at the minute, I can’t seem to see a reason for it?!🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s the transport position. When it’s down and the machine is folded in the Swarther will catch in ditch as it’s sticking out. So up is transport position

Go to know!👍🏻 I didn’t realise it stuck out that much?! I’d be more interested in having a clear view behind me to see exactly what the traffic was going to do, any rash manoeuvres etc. We all know that they love sitting behind on the straights and then overtaking coming up to either corners, narrow bridges, junctions or the favourite one when you’re about to turn into the field!😬 🚜🚙🚗🛻💨💨💨

Do you just spray all liquid fertilizer or do you mix it with granule fertilizer aswell on the silage ?

No all liquid for last 2 years. Very happy with the results.

In 50 yrs time the 3650 will still be going and the 6 series will be in a scrap yard the new deeres have nothing on the older 1s

@@gerry6420 the 50 series jerry there just a lovely tractor that you can work on if ye had that 6 series in 40 yrs time you could refresh her apart from the paint no after market parts for a touch screen haha great vid as always ud get lost in the grass here in cork that wet march and the heat its gone nuts

Would the 1000 shaft not work with that size tractor save on fuel

It is in 1000. I’m using it in 1000 economy for most jobs…. Drilling and silage harvester. But the mower is 540. So it’s 540e on both 6930 and 215. The economy uses less fuel but will die the tractor quicker as it’s working at 3-400 revs less

3650 suits that mower very well. It just seems to be the go to tractor for the mounted mower

It’s a taarup 3124 2013/14 mower. With spreading veins and electric ground pressure for followingground contours. I have it about 4 years. Bought out of uk. Didn’t cut 20 acres before I bought it. Had original knifes on it. It’s our second one. We had a 2005 one before that. Their smashing mower to cut. Bit heavy and stick out a bit in transport but they can mow grass for sport

How many HP WOULD you need to run a triple mower?

I’d say more then 200. Say a contractor would be looking 250 hp with out boost. Like a 250r. My tractor would run them but be too slow on hills I’d imagine
