It dries like a hot wax... makes sense, this is exactly the same as Silca's hot wax except emulsified in water. The water is why you need to let this sit overnight, so it can evaporate. If you ride immediately after applying, you won't get the full benefit/performance.

I just bought the silca Super Secret Chain lube and applied it last night. After 24 hours of curing, it "drys" to slightly greasy, soft crumbley mess. Nothing like a hard wax in any way. It's not what I expected and am removing the chain from the bike.

Nearly 0 dirt pick up with chain waxing. Can't say the same for super secret.

I use Boeshield T9 liquid chain lube. It's been excellent for me. It cleans and lubricates the chain. Leaves a slick feeling when you run your finger along the chain. I re-apply every 2-3 rides just because. Can definitely feel there being no resistance in the drivetrain when pedalling. I have tried Muc offs dry and wet lube and really didn't like it. For the first day it feels nice but once it dries it's super tacky/grabby feeling. Doesn't feel good at all. Hard to get off to even with super clean purple degreaser full power. I just waste it on the pivots and bearings on the deraileur now.

Super Secret makes a mess and my drivetrain is noticeably louder than other lubes. I've switch to Silca Synergetic and like it a lot more.

I tried squirt but didn't like it for the reasons that you stated. I might have to give it a go. Very pricy though.

Maybe have a look at Tru Tension Banana Slip All Weather, it has the same contents as Silca but at a 1/4 of the price and was rated higher in most areas when tested by ZFC. It also has the magical WS2 ingredient too.

I got my first bottle and it was a white color wax. I just got my second bottle and it is grey. Did they change the formula? Seems to still work well though.

I've been using Progold Prolink and quiet like it. I'm curious if you've ever tried that against R&R lube?

The main complain after using it for a few month in humid place here in Singapore, is that it washes off way too quickly if the weather is wet or if you occasionally go into center of raining areas. The build up is also an issue and you can frequently spot black wax spots everywhere in your home because the wax is designed to be gradually falling off the chain and take dirt away with it.

How's that lube in variable conditions? I've been using Squirt, which has been a massive upgrade from other stuff. Getting 2X more life out of a chain. Works great in the dry both for road and XC. But there are probably faster lubes out there. I'm too lazy for full wax.
